Whats the best way to care for a shamrock plant?

My boss gets us one every year for St. Patrick's Day. Last year mine died fairly quickly, but this year I want to make it last longer....especially because its purple! I didn't know there was such a thing as purple shamrocks!

Whats the best way to care for a shamrock plant?
Its actually called clover, Grows wild in many places. Some varieties are annual and will die in a short time. The perennial varieties can be transplanted outdoors but has a tendency to take over. They like cooler temperatures, bright but indirect light and moist soil.
Reply:find out what conditions the plant likes to grow
Reply:Keep it moist, but not soaking. It likes bright light...try a southern exposure.
Reply:I have one of the green and one of the purple for two years now. The green one is thinning out quite a bit but the purple one is still nice. The leaves die down and new ones replace them. I do let them dry in between waterings. One I have under lights and the other one in a western window, with light curtain covering.
