I bought buttercream icing from the store and want to ice some shamrock cookies for this weekend.?

how do I get the icing to harden so that I can eat/store the cookies.

I bought buttercream icing from the store and want to ice some shamrock cookies for this weekend.?
buttercream does not go really hard only as hard as butter in the fridge if you want a hard icing you will have to use normal icing, or royal which goes very hard ie wedding cakes
Reply:from my experience it does not get very hard buy you have to leave it for a couple of hours
Reply:Just add some powdered sugar and stiffin up the consistancy. If you need a bit of water to spread it, use the water a drop at a time, dry the cookies on a cookie rack....





It will harden... (the best way is to use royal icing purchased at WalMart -instant harden, it is used for what you want and for certain flowers to decorate cakes) the best royal icing is
