Small tiny shamrock tattoo question...?

i'm planning on getting a very tiny shamrock tattoo somewhere on my wrist. it's probably going to be a very bright green outlined in black. is it bad to get it if i am only 25% irish?? it would also symbol my grandfather and life. please tell me your opinions on this tattoo. :)

Some say shamrocks are over done. I know that my boyfriend got his done on a whim and it was done really bad. Soon he will be having it fixed and I love his idea for fixing it.


It's on his left back calf. The shamrock will be re-colored and on one of the leaves he will have a leprechaun sitting, holding a fishing pole going into a pool of water. Kind of like that scene they have at the begging of some movies, the boy on the half crescent moon.

Reply:It's really silly. get something else that is relevant to you and means something to you. People will assume that your are 100% irish and have a strong connection / affinity with the culture.





How woule you feel if you were 100% Irish and you saw someone with the shamrock that wasn't even Irish!





You'd think they were a loser and wierd.

Reply:I think it would be great. Just a few things about tattoos,, sometimes when you get them to small, you cant do a lot, and they may stretch out. Also,,, on your wrist is cool, but you have to understand that many places do not allow tattoos to show during work. If you are going to get one,,, go all out! Be proud, and get it.
Reply:Tattoos don't have to mean something to the outside world. If it means something to you and you like it, get it. All of my tattoos represent where I was at that time in my life. They all have stories and I don't care if people like them or not. They're for me to look at and remember why I got that tattoo. I say get it!
Reply:first of all, i like this idea. second, a tattoo is something very personal and meaningful. dont let anyone tell you that you shouldnt get something you want. if you want it, go for it. after all it is your body and your tattoo to decide, not theirs.
Reply:it doesnt matter at all my sister doesnt have a lick of irish in her and she got one on her hip. if it has symbolic meaning about your grandfather and life then more power to you but you also have the trusty fall back of saying it is for good luck.
Reply:It doesn't matter if you are Irish or not, it is a symbol of Good Luck also. Clover's grow all over the world. If it is something that you like and want and can live with for the rest of your life then that is what matters.
Reply:Clover tattoos are lame and over done. I think if your gonna get a tattoo, especially if its for your grandfather, it should be something that means more to you and is unique.
