Do you think Ken Shamrock held back in teaching his team or does he just suck at coaching?

I kind of get the feeling he held back because he did'nt want Ortiz to know what he was up to or what kind of training he was doing and his team suffered for it

Do you think Ken Shamrock held back in teaching his team or does he just suck at coaching?
I think his training reflects his own present day fighting, _shitty,

and he seemed selfish not giving those guys all the techniques and tricks he picked up when he WAS good. All in all, the only thing on his mind was the fight with Ortiz, and his fighters got screwed in the deal. Ken will forever remain nothing but a

Punk *****_! I wouldnt even watch his training vid if some one gave it to me for free and put it in my dvd player, for me.
Reply:Of course he held training back. He isnt so confident in his training that he can show his opponet what he is doing and still do it. Everyone knows TITO is gonna ground and pound. Its his game, and he is strong enough, fast enough, and smart enough to use something simple to win. Report It

Reply:does he ever suck.
Reply:Ken Shamrock didn't care about his fighters one bit. Even at the end of the show he would trash talk Tito more than he would pep talk his team. I used to absolutely hate Tito Ortiz, I couldn't stand his attitude or his actions, and Ken Shamrock was one of my favorite older fighters. However, after TUF 3 I have huge amounts of respect for Tito and barely any for Ken. Tito gave his heart, energy, and time and really helped those guys. Ken was nothing but a selfish and whinning punkass really, he had more excuses than drunk parked in the middle of an intersection at rush hour. He was one of the best fighters back in the day, but his mind has still to catch up with his body's age. I think Tito is going to help him realize this. Go Tito all the way.
Reply:Ken is old and washed up, as Tito says at least. I honestly thought season 3 of TUF was awful on Shamrocks side, and Tito dominated the whole show.
Reply:Shamrock only did the show because Ortiz did it. I don't think that he really cared about them. Lion's Den training didn't help those guys with their cardio either.
Reply:i dont think he necessarily held back on purpose, he just was not as good a coach as was tito, he is still a ufc legend, but he just isnt a world class coach, maybe also the personalities of his team did not mesh well with his coaching style.
Reply:I think that's the kind of person Shamrock is. He might may have been a good fighter but I don't think that he thinks too much about other people. That's the major disagreement between him and Tito. Tito supposedly witnessed Ken dissing a kid asking for an autograph. That really pissed Tito off and it shows that Ken doesn't really care how he comes across to people.
Reply:I think that Dana White nailed it on the head. Ken came to do the show just so he could fight Tito and thats it. On the other hand Tito came to the show to coach the young guys and teach them everything thing that he knows. He didn't hold back he just didn't care as much as Tito did.
Reply:He's a good martial artist(individually)...but I think it was a little of both!

Held back %26amp; sucks at coaching!
Reply:He's the worst coach I have ever seen, I can't wait to see his face get pummeled again this weekend.
Reply:he deffinetly held back he has a training camp "the lions den" and he is also very skilled in submissions all he did was show up for six weeks so he could fight tito
Reply:held back ?? lol. ken blows and sucks as a coach and season 3 proved it.
