Should the winner of the Frank Shamrock vs Cung Le fight Anderson Silva?

I would like to see Silva vs. Shamrock. I think that would be an awesome fight. If Shamrock could catch Silva he could win. Shamrock is only around 35, he seems older because he's been around for so long. I think he has a chance against Silva...a chance.

Sadly, Frank won't fight for UFC as long as Dana White is around. yet another great figther that has been alienated by the idiocy of Dana White.

Should the winner of the Frank Shamrock vs Cung Le fight Anderson Silva?
Sorry but Dana White hates Frank Shamrock with a passion, and I don't think Cung Le is even considerable to take on Silva. It funny how everyone tries to figure out who can beat him. Did everyone say the same when Hughes or Liddell was in their prime? No one wanted them to lose.
Reply:Before I answer, keep on record that both Frank and Cung LE are phenomenal athletes and have accomplished alot in combat sports.

That being said, NO. Cung Le needs more experience in mma. Look at his track record, he hasnt fought a big named opponent yet. Frank will big his "biggest test" to date. Frank has done alot in his career, but his last biggest achievement was beating a younger/inexperienced Tito Ortiz. Since then, he has fought and beaten sub .500 fighters in Elvis Sinosic (losing record), Caesar Gracie (0-0 in mma before fighting frank), and Phil Braoni (losing record).

Frank barely fights anymore and is looking for big paychecks/easy fights (God bless him, he is smart).

If Frank or Cung Le fought Anderson Silva right now, both would get smoked fast. Anderson is in his prime and taking out top competitors like it is nothing. I wasnt surprised how easy he beat Leben or Lutter (both out of SIlva's range), but Nathan Marquardt, Rich Franklin (x2), and Dan Henderson are impressive victories, especially how he was able to finish them all off.

Frank's shot at Anderson is to come into the UFC and have to fight RIch Franklin or Dan Henderson first.
Reply:niether one of them will fight silva, niether one of them derserve to fight silva. Shamrock will probably destroy Le, he should anyway. But Shamrock is not even close to Silvas level. Le has yet to fight anyone, Shamrock hasnt in a long time, let them have thier little sideshow, but niether should be considered on the level to take on Silva.

And as for the guy who is in love with cung le, sure he is a great martial artist and i respect him for that, but he is trying to be a mixed martial arts fighter now, and as a mixed martial arts fighter he is no where near a step up in compitition for Anderson Silva. Frank Shamrock used to be a pretty good fighter, now he mostly talks about fighters and he should be able to handle Le with ease. Silva would knock Le (and Shamrock for that matter) into next week. In the mma world Le would be lucky and should consider it an honor to get his head knocked off by Silva. and unless Le is about 65 yrs old he doesnt predate mma.
Reply:first of all frank is going to absolutely embarrass cung in this fight, but it wouldn't be as bad as the beating anderson would give to frank. unfortunately a fight between frank and anderson will never happen(both frank and dana white have too big of egos to ever work together) so i'll just have to dream about the beatdown anderson would shell out.
Reply:Cung Lee pre dates MMA as one of the most respected martial artists in several decades. It is an honor to MMA that a man of Cung's stature choses to engage in MMA. I stress that there is a difference between Martial Art and MMA. Unarmed Combat with the goal of a submission or KO of an opponent is not the same thing as "Martial Arts", and Cung Lee is a true "artist" in every sense of the word. This doesn't mean he will be successful in the MMA ring, but in Martial Arts circles, Cung is held in awe. Just the fact that Cung Lee is involved has elevated MMA in stature, and in truth I don't follow the sport that closely, but I will certainly be watching this one.

I would not presume to be in any position to offer speculation or advice to Cung Lee or Frank Shamrock for that matter, but from what I know of the MMA scene, both would be a step up in competition for Silva. Without a doubt Anderson Silva would consider it an honor to fight either one of them.
Reply:Cung Le needs more experience with MMA for a fight like that (Not saying he's bad: His standup is impressive). As for Frank? I don't think he would win if it were set up, but I think he could at least put up a good fight.
