Why Frank Shamrock moves away from the UFC after he crowned as the middleweight champion of that organization?

he defends his title against Ortiz and after that he simply left and we never saw him until he fights in 2000 against Elvis Sinosic, but this time in K1. I still don't understand why. To me Frank in one of the best of the HISTORY of mix martial arts and also i think he's gonna crush Baroni.

Why Frank Shamrock moves away from the UFC after he crowned as the middleweight champion of that organization?
Frank told Dana to call him when they had someone that could beat him. First off that is not cool, second you don't talk to Dana like that. I don't think he'll get that call. I like Frank, more than Ken anyway. But I think that Frank had a "big head".
Reply:Back then Frank did not feel he was getting paid enough, he could make more owning a dojo and being a trainer, so why risk his rep when the sport was not paying the fighters what they deserve was his reason. It is a whole money dispute with the UFC and at this point he just does not like Dana White and Zuffa. Same thing happened to BJ Penn, Penn chokes out Hughes, but Hughes was still the big draw and they did not give Penn the money he wanted so he left.
Reply:From what I have read about the situation there is conflict between Frank Shamrock and the owners of the UFC. Dana White was asked about the situation once and said he has spoken with Frank a few times but Frank likes to make everyone think they hate each other. He also called Frank a weird weird dude. I think Frank has some sort of hatred back and forth though because if you notice the UFC never mentions him as well and he is a great fighter and a great part of their history. There is some sort of conflict that has never really been exposed.
Reply:well UFC did not want to pay the fighters and they all started leavig so frank left i mean it was UFC but there were no good fighters left might as well go saomewhere else
Reply:The reason is most likely a contract dispute
Reply:unfortunatly ufc was willing to allow top talent to leave if they didn't take the cash that the ufc wanted to pay them(lindland, belfort) they'd just let them go. Frank was the first real MIXED martial artist. the guy had it all and was the complete package, as well as a complete @ss. In case you havent seen it check out his fight against renzo gracie at elitexc. i defiantly hope the NYBA beats the snot out of shamrock, but hey thats just me.
