If a shamrock is considered good luck in Ireland, what is a good luck charm for Italians?

While passing some candy "gold" coins around the office, a co worker of mine asks if we want some "Irish luck". I am Italian, and was curious what an Italian "good luck" symbol or charm might be....ravioli? I tried searching, but with no luck.

I know that doves are lucky to them and so are sweetened almonds as they symbolize the bitterness and sweetness to life. I have heard the horn the month of August is said to be unlucky as the stregga celebrated the passing ceremonies but just as an FYI depends on where in italy bc these are primaraly the traditions that my Family has told me about from Florence..Sicily is going to be way diffrent and so is more north or south it varried from village to village. The traditions are structured kinda like the greeks where diffrent things were important to diffrent regions

Reply:I went and looked and found what they call a 'cornetto', or basically a horn. The guy who said chili pepper had assumed from its shape and color. The website I found had them colored red. Other italian good luck charms are the horseshoe, corna, and gobbo. Gobbo is a little dwarf and the corna is a hand shaped into a symbol. Red seems to be the good luck charm. The cornetto comes all the way from ancient times when a real horn was hung outside for luck in fertility.
