How can I explain the shamrock and the Trinity to kids?

The shamrock represents the luck of the Irish. The Trinity represents the 3 aspects of the Goddess(Maiden, Mother and Crone.).

How can I explain the shamrock and the Trinity to kids?
As for the trinity you can say that God ( like H2O ) can come in 3 different forms: Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

as H2O can appear as water, snow and ice.
Reply:Start by saying Jesus is God and the Father is God and the SPirit is God.... so how can Jesus pray to the Father? Because one God exists as three persons.

The one person with 3 titles is more like "The Sybellian Trinity" one God who looks like 3 persons but is 1 person. Historical Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox Christians believe in the "Athanasean Trinity" where one God exists as three persons, hense.

It is a reminder that God is one in essence and three in persons One God existing as three persons who are co equal, co eternal and co existent throughout eternity

3 in 1

For a really precocious kid, you might have to explain the related but lesser known 2 in 1 term. For Jeus being one person with 2 natures. "The hyperstatic union - one person with both divine and human nature. In a sense you can think of the divine nature of Jesus as part of the Trinity, In a sense the human nature as part of the creation as Jesus took on an unfallen human nature at Bethlehem to become the God Man, fully God and fully man.
Reply:I can't explain the trinity but I can explain how its not.

In John 1:1 it says In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God: and the Word was God.

How can Jesus (The Word) be with himself if he was God, you can be all by yourself but you can't be wth yourself.

John 1:14 says And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.

He became flesh and was on the earth, and he had the glory of the Father. Jesus did say if you seen me you have seen my Father also. But he ment that if you have seen me you have seen Jehovah's the Heavenly Fathers qualities. All children have some of the traits and qualities of parents. Besides did he say to Mary mum I am going to make you pregnant with me again? Who was running the heavens while he was in Marys womb? Was he talking to himself when he said Father why have you foresaken me? Was Jesus insane? Why did he leave himself?

Then in John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time: the only begotten Son who is in the Bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

So if no man has seen God, how can Jesus be God. God told moses if you look at me you will surely die. There was no reports about people dying when they saw Jesus, no reports about Jesus wearing a sack over his head.

God also told Moses in Exodus 33:20 And again he said: Thou canst not see my face: for man shall not see me, and live.

So no man will ever see God's and live.

In Genesis 1:2 it says that God's spirit moved over the waters. This is God's active force, what he uses to create things with. Because in verse 3 he said let there be light and light came to be.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was void and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved over the waters.

So how can Jehovah our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, be of the same entity?

Jesus means, Jehovah Is Salvation.

This is why you don't know how to explain the Trinity because the bible doesn't it. I used the Catholic Bible please look up the scriptures yourself.
Reply:The Trinity is a Sham, so let's rock! (Preferably to Bob Marley, U2 or something else not too hard.)

Three leaves (really leaflets), one clover/shamrock.

Each leaf is not a separate shamrock if broken off.

Three persons, one God.

Each person is not a god by Himself.
Reply:My parents tried, I still think its the Farther, the son and the Holy Goat.
Reply:How can you explain the Trinity to anyone, it is not Biblical and does not make any sense.

The shamrock? Is that to do with luck? That is surely for the gullible.

Sorry not to be more helpful.
Reply:Trinity - tough one...

A teacher friend of mine used to say think of the "three-in-one" as being that one person can have three "titles"

i.e. your child is a son/daughter, a brother/sister (possibly), a cousin, a grandchild.

Your husband is a father, a husband, a child.

Does that make any sense??

I understand that the shamrock was used by St Patrick to represent the trinity - but I don't know any more than that, I only caught a bit of it on yesterday's news...
Reply:the Trinity is NOT the truth! there is only ONE GOD! there are so many scriptures that tell us so.

Deut 6:4

Matthew 6:24

Isaiah 43:3

Isaiah 9:6

2 Chronicles 20:6 NIV

Isa 48:16-17 and many many more throughout the whole Bible

God was manifested in the flesh,

Justified in the Spirit,

Seen by angels,

Preached among the Gentiles,

Believed on in the world,

Received up in glory.
Reply:The Trinity cannot be explained. That is the most important thing to explain to them - that there are mysteries of the faith that God alone can fully understand. We can know about such mysteries because He has revealed them, but we cannot fully understand them.

The shamrock, like all such analogies, is misleading because each of the three leaves is only PART of the whole. This is exactly the opposite of the Trinity, in which there are no parts, and each of the three IS the whole. Yet, there is only one whole, not three.

Read this. It may help you to better appreciate what the Church teaches about the Trinity. But it won't enable you to understand it! ...

Reply:For reality to work there needs to be three things present, for instance if we are talking about looking at something, there needs to be someone who is looking, something looked at and the process of looking. If just one of these things is missing there is no act at all. The same goes for thinking, eating, everything. So God is three things, because he is everything. Without one of the things, there is nothing. I wouldn´t bother about father, son, holy spirit etc, not whilst they are children, some adults fail to ever get their heads around that explanation. God is the watcher, the watched and the watching, three in one one in three, world without end.
