Is a Guiness the best beer in the world if built correctly?

How important is the 'building'? I've heard it takes 3-4 minutes %26amp; a good bartend can put a shamrock on top.

The time it takes to pour does matter. It changes the oxygenation of the beer. The shamrock doesn't matter.

Best beer? Depends on what you are looking for. I like Murphy's better as far as stouts go, but it all depends on what you are looking for.
Reply:"Building" doesn't matter to taste. It's a visual gimmick.
Reply:Yes. Building is important. But what is more important is the temperature of Guinness. It must be served at room temp. of a pub in Ireland. Only the best bartenders know that!

Reply:Guiness tastes like drinking a bucket of paint.
Reply:I started drinking it in Ireland, and my non-drinking sister found out at a pub that it takes 7 minutes to pour (+ let settle) the perfect Guinness. And they were cold, I don't think I could drink warm beer......yccch!
Reply:Ew. I'm sorry, I am a 'Beer Connoisseur'....and I find Guinness too harsh! Very strong beer, and it doesn't matter what's on top! Although I DO have friends that like it!
