How badly does it hurt to get a tattoo on your shoulder blade?

I am thinking about getting a tattoo on my shoulder blade. A shamrock with the word lucky around it in Gaelic. How badly will this hurt? I have never gotten a tattoo before.

How badly does it hurt to get a tattoo on your shoulder blade?
any tattoo will hurt, but it also depends on how much pain you can take.getting one feels like a rubber band being snapped at you continuously.and sionce its against a pain you feel exactly that verses getting done on a tissue area.but also what your describing it would take about less then an hour to complete.since i have done many shamroocks tattooing
Reply:your a big girl, you can take it
Reply:tatoos are so permanently stupid anyway. it'll hurt like hell.
Reply:everyone's pain tolerance is different. the areas that are the most painfull are the areas where the skin is thinest near bone....such as: strenum, elbows, shoulder blades, skull, ankle bone.
Reply:Tattoos are different for everyone. I have one and it stung but was not a terrible pain. I gave a friend of mine my opinion on it, so she went and got one in the same spot that I did, and came out saying that was the worst pain she'd ever felt. So, it really depends on the person. If you decide to get it, prepare your mind for it on the way. Good luck!
Reply:it doesnt hurt bad there i got a dancing bear there. a little advice i just got one on my leg that kind of wraps around to the back and that was the worst spot ever was the back of the leg
Reply:It will hurts more if you are tattooing over a bone and not much flesh under it.
Reply:Why mark your body up for life? Your perfect the way you are and adding someone elses opinion of art to your body won't make you any prettier or sexier or any more attractive and might get you a disease or infection.

If your set on getting a label placed on your body try a temporary tattoo. It comes off in a couple of weeks. Permanent Tats hurt, some more then others.
Reply:tattoos dont hurt as bad as many people think. i have 5 and want more. it really depends on each persons tolerance for pain. the area of the body youre talking about would hurt more than if you got it right above the shoulder blade. i have one there and i remember thinking at the time i got it that it really wasnt so bad. if you want to see the location im talking about, you can go to my 360 page and look at my photo album titled "Moi". I have pictures of all my tattoos in there. the one on the back of my shoulder is a yellow rose with a tribal design around it. its right above right above my shoulder blade where theres more fat tissue.
Reply:I have one that runs on my shoulder and shoulder blade, it did not hurt too bad. I try to keep my tatoos on the parts that have more fat.
Reply:That's like one of the spots it hurts the least.
Reply:u want feel it i had it n twice because i did extra things around it for the second time n i hardly felt it it was like something tickling me
Reply:Hurts, anywhere close to bone hurts more...
Reply:it really doesn't hurt that bad i just got one done on my shoulder. just don't get your self all excited and you will be fine. if you get all worked up you stress on it and then it will hurt!

good luck and sit still
Reply:Getting a tattoo anywhere where there is little fat - where bone is fairly close beneath the skin can be painful. The size and color will affect pain also. I would start with the outline and decide where you want to go from there. You can get it colored later.
Reply:doesnt hurt that much, chest ankle lower back and feet hurt the most. Drink a lot of caffiene before you go in and eat something you dont want to pull a whitey. Enjoy
Reply:Please don't be like all the other losers and get a tramp stamp.
Reply:Everyone has a different threshhold for pain.

But if you want my answer, It isnt that bad, it will hurt most when the artist first starts. After a few minutes in, you wont feel a thing.
Reply:I have a tatt there, it didn't hurt at all. Now on your rib cage, lower abs, inner arm and along the spine - that hurts!
