Man they dragged that Ortiz vs Shamrock thing out for a while. At least that fight was free. And some of the other fights were pretty bloody. Did anyone see that first fight with Matt 'the Hammer"? Dont get me wrong, back in the day Shamrock was dope but he was startin' to bug...anyone with me here?
Who was happy to see Shamrock retire yesterday?
Totally agree. I think that Shamrock should have retired 3-5 years ago. He is not Randy Coutoure and just didn't have the skills to make a go of it after 37. Ken didn't even look like he really trained or that he was going to win. It almost looked like Ken was there for the payday. In his prime, Ken would have given Tito a run for his money, but not now. It was really a pathetic fight. Consider that in the last few years Ken only defeated Kimo, another over the hill fighter.
Reply:I like Shamrock and all but im glad he retired, he was getting to old anyways.
Reply:You know, if you think Shamrock is retired, you are crazy. Maybe he can't fight in the ufc anymore, but I gaurantee that he will keep fighting in smaller venues for a few more years. There is no other way to get the rush you get in direct combat. He'll fight until he injures something seriously and he physically can't anymore.
Reply:Saw all the fights and I thought they were all very good and always better if it's free. My opinion on Ken Shamrock is yes retire be a UFC Hall of Famer and go out with some sense left. Don't care much for Tito though, Liddell will kill him again in December cant wait. And on Matt Hamill not sure what you mean by bug? Hope that's good because that's what I think of him, excellent, tuff, crowd favorite fighter so far in just a couple of fights. He is also from my home town like Rich Franklin (Cincinnati).
Reply:Hasn't Shamrock lost his last 4 fights? He's long past retirement.
Reply:I think it was time for Ken to retire. He's been a good ambassador for the sport and I hope he'll stay involved in some capacity, but as a fighter his time is over.
Reply:I love Ken that why im glad he retire. He lost the fight with Tito without throwing a single punch. He was a great fighter but hes simply to old he no match for the younger guys.
Reply:I am so glad Shamrock retired. I think he should have retired a while ago. As far a Tito and Chuck go, I don't think Chuck is ready to give up his belt yet. I admire Tito and his work ethic. I certianly think he is an awsome fighter. I just don't think Chuck is ready to give up the belt and I don't think Tito is as good as Chuck standing up. Then again all it takes is that one split second and anything goes.
Reply:It was past time for Shamrock to retire. The Hammill fight was bloody. I'm not impressed with his boxing skills or his ground and pound skills yet though. He didn't throw any good elbows, he just kept grinding the mouse under the eye. He'll improve over time though with Tito looking out for him.
Reply:i was glad that ortiz won just because i want to see chuck liddel destory him in december
