My shamrock plant is getting too big for the planter. Can I split it up into smaller pots or will that kill it?
Splitting a shamrock plant?
You can dig up the roots and separate the rhizomes. This might stress the plant(s) out to where they kind of die. But, if you have the rhizomes intact, you can plant them separately to form individual plants. I have some that I found in my yard. I dug them up and separated them out into individual pots. They're fine. I even went on vacation once and they "died" from lack of water. But, I just started watering them again and they came right badk to life.
Reply:No they are very hardy. I have cut mine down lots of times
