something is telling me that's goinng to be hard , but thanks anyaway see yah
I just got in USA and I would like to be training by ken shamrock , there's any chaces ?
Dude you don't wanna train with the Lion's Den. Did you ever see the Ultimate Fighter season 3? Ken is out of touch with today's MMA fighters. If I was living in Cali I would reach out to Team Quest %26amp; train with Dan Henderson. Unlike the Lion's Den where you actually have to try out for just to get in, Team Quest California accepts all levels of competitors from amatuer to professional. Plus they have kids classes they teach at there gym so that right there tells you they'll accept anybody!
Reply:Dan Henderson is the NEW Pride FC Middleweight Champion %26amp; is still the current Welterweight Champion!! Trust me, he knows his $hit!! Report It
Reply:I question why you'd choose to train with him over other, more successful camps, but if you are dead set on doing so he has an IFL team. Go to www.ifl.tv and find out where they are located and I'm certain that is where his training facility is. I'm sure he also trains at Guy Mezger's Lion's Den Dallas from time to time. You may also think about looking into training at Miletich Fighting Systems in Davenport, IA or Team Quest in Gresham, OR. In my opinion, either of those camps would make you a better fighter than training with Shamrock.
Reply:Well to join his academy you will probably need lots of money and experience in other areas of martial arts.
Reply:Are you Irish by any chance... is that right? Ken is ok fighter but ,if i want to model my self after somebody it would probably be
"THE ICEMAN" CHUCK LIDDELL" EVERYBODY..
Reply:Go online and Look up the his school the Lions den I dont know how much he deals with training ppl day to day but if you got money you cant attend his school
Reply:I think you've got to be able to do 500 pushups/situps/squats and run 5 miles. The main Lion's Den is somewhere in California (methinks). I have no idea how much it costs.
Reply:Why Shamrock?
He is old school and his stuff just doesn't cut it.
Reply:WTF?
Kens a azzhole...
Reply:first of all hear me out.....Ken Shamrock is complete trash as a trainer! Look at the time he coached the ultimate fighter, his toughest training regimes consisted of playing golf! A waste of money getting trained by him.
Reply:For what he lost his last four fights, and Lions den is washed up yes I said it What.

What are some good houseplant to buy?
I am looking for some new houseplants that are either cool, pretty, rare. or exotic.
I now have: caladiums, some cacti, aloe vera, venus fly trap, shamrock, mother-in-laws tongue, and donkey tail.
Do you know of any other plants that do well inside all year round?
What are some good houseplant to buy?
Crotons have nice color and are relatively easy to take care of as well. You have a mother-in-laws tongue, which is also a good choice for low maintenance. I would go with a classic rubber tree plant for low maintenance and ease of growth.
To add to your carnivorous collection, maybe add a sundew plant, although I have never had much luck with the meat eating plants. lol.
Another unique house plant is the mother of thousands...the plant that grows its baby plants on the outer edge of its leaves. I have had luck with this plant so far, and I find it somewhat unique since it reminds me of something from the dinosaur age.
Reply:Go to your plant nursery and have a look at the Madonna Lily. They will put out a white flower if its placed near abit of sunlight coming from the window. If there's no sunlight it will just have its green foliage. Cheers
Reply:Here's one of my favorites, because it is beautiful, easy to maintain, and raises and lowers every night.
Maranta leuconeura or Prayer Plant, a native of Brazil, is a small tropical plant with broad oval leaves, up to 8 inches long by half as wide. The leaves fold upwards at night, hence the common name.
Blooming Time: Spring and Summer. The small white flowers have purple spots. Flowers are not particularly showy.
Culture: Maranta leuconeura need full shade and warm temperatures. We use a soil mix consisting of 2 parts peat moss to 1 part loam to 1 part sand or perlite. The soil should never be allowed to dry out. Fertilize weekly with a balanced fertilizer diluted to ½ the strength recommended on the label. Since the plant has a shallow root system it should be planted in shallow pots. The plant responds to being trimmed at least twice a year. Trimming helps to keep the plant growing vigorously. Re potting should only be done if the plant out-grows its container.
Propagation: Maranta leuconeura are easily propagated by division.
Reply:I like all the colors you can get African violets in. Also calanchoe comes in lots of colors. The leaves of pepperomia are cool looking too.
Reply:If you won't something with a bit of height then get a Chinese lucky plant. When it gets to tall all you do is cut the top off and replant it.

Another nice indoor plant is Peace Lily.
http://www.plant-care.com/drooping-peace...
If you like to add some colour then get a Cordyline fruticosa
http://www.floridata.com/ref/C/cord_fru....
one more easy care indoor plant is a Philodendron called 'Xanadu'
http://www.wschowa.com/abrimaal/araceum/...
Reply:I think you should try a small baboo plant in your house.
Reply:I like spider plant %26amp; grape ivy - they're both very hardy and look great hanging in front of a window. An example of how hardy spider plants can be, I have two in vermiculite in styrofoam cups sitting in my kitchen window and they both have sent out babies. As long as they get water, sun and a touch of fertilizer, they're happy.
Reply:If you prefer exotic, anthuriums are relatively easy to grow, shoot out lily like flowers, available in red, white or pink, perennials, so they only bloom once a year and have very nice foliage year round, also the money tree, exotic and also a good choice as they are low maintenance, just remember to water at least once a week, and fertilize regularly

Is it legal to draw something on your license plates?
I want to either draw on a little shamrock or put on a tiny bumper sticker I have. But would I get in trouble for it?
Is it legal to draw something on your license plates?
It is illegal to deface or add anything to a license plate other than the registration sticker. It is also illegal in most states to have a license plate frame and /or clear plastic cover over the plate. While you may see people doing it (as I have) if they get pulled over and the policeman wants to ticket them, he can do so for any of the above infractions.
Reply:Technically anything obscuring your license plate is illegal. But as long as its not covering the numbers or anything I can't imagine they would mess with you about it.
Reply:It's not worth it. I'm sure the police can pull you over for putting anything on your license plates.
Put your shamrock elsewhere.
Reply:just put it on your bumper, thats why its called a bumper sticker......anyways, as for your question, i think, as long as you dont cover up the expiration sticker, or the number and letters, then it should be fine.
Reply:probably not. as long as you don't cover anything important that needs to be seen.

Should I celebrate St. Patty's day by beaning all the neighbourhood brats with Shamrock shakes?
No. They would enjoy that too much. I say go traditional and break out the shalaleigh.
Should I celebrate St. Patty's day by beaning all the neighbourhood brats with Shamrock shakes?
It's better than damaging your liver by drinking heavily.
Besides, vivid memories are the stuff of engaging childhood memories. You'd be doing them a service by saving them from nothing but bland experiences.

What are the negatives of getting a tattoo behind your ear?
I want to get a small shamrock behind my ear and I was wondering what were some of the negatives of getting one there.
What are the negatives of getting a tattoo behind your ear?
I can't think of any negatives to getting a tattoo behind the ear. It might be abit painful but that area is tiny so it would all be over within 5mins. If your female you can use your hair to cover it when at work or somewhere formal. A tattoo at the back of the ear isn't very visable so no real negatives that i can think of.
Good Luck
Reply:well ure gonna be tatooing a bone. so
its gonna hurt like hell.
Reply:You're going to be tattooing on bone. There are a lot of nerves there, and it'll hurt like a holy mother.
Reply:There's no fat between the skin and the skull, which I suspect means it would hurt a lot. You'd want to be extra careful about infection.
I have a friend who has a tattoo that curves from behind her ear to around front, though, so I know it's done.
Reply:one of the problems with tattoos in that area is the skin is very elastic and moves a lot (and bleeds even more!) so sometimes the tattoo doesnt come out very well.
another downside is if its on show peole can judge you by it and potential employers can be put off so think carefully.
good luck.
Reply:Mika got one of the two things I've heard about with respect to this location. The other is that if you wear glasses, it might be tricky healing. I need to wear prescription glasses for just about anything, for example, and barring bopping around my house (which I can do in the dark if need be) it'd suck.
Reply:I don't think there are any negatives getting on there..
Reply:I actually have a tattoo behind my ear, and contrary to popular belief, it was not painful at all. I have 5 tattoos and the one behind my ear was the least painful. The only con I can think of is some tattoo artists refuse to tattoo on the neck because they think it's too close to the face and people will regret it.
But if you have longer hair, it's very easy to hide, but easy to show off just by wearing your hair up. It is not very painful and I constantly get compliments on it.
Reply:You wont see it and its a fairly small canvas for the tatoo artist he might screw it up if hes not professianol.(sorry for spelling.)

Is a Guiness the best beer in the world if built correctly?
How important is the 'building'? I've heard it takes 3-4 minutes %26amp; a good bartend can put a shamrock on top.
Is a Guiness the best beer in the world if built correctly?
The time it takes to pour does matter. It changes the oxygenation of the beer. The shamrock doesn't matter.
Best beer? Depends on what you are looking for. I like Murphy's better as far as stouts go, but it all depends on what you are looking for.
Reply:"Building" doesn't matter to taste. It's a visual gimmick.
Reply:Yes. Building is important. But what is more important is the temperature of Guinness. It must be served at room temp. of a pub in Ireland. Only the best bartenders know that!
Reply:It all depends on your tastes.
Reply:Guiness tastes like drinking a bucket of paint.
Reply:I started drinking it in Ireland, and my non-drinking sister found out at a pub that it takes 7 minutes to pour (+ let settle) the perfect Guinness. And they were cold, I don't think I could drink warm beer......yccch!
Reply:Ew. I'm sorry, I am a 'Beer Connoisseur'....and I find Guinness too harsh! Very strong beer, and it doesn't matter what's on top! Although I DO have friends that like it!

Shamrock vs. Buzz(3-08-08) was this for real?
I have watched this fight about 10 times now, and when Shamrock gets "KO'd" he gets punched in the back of his hand. This looks set-up to me. WHY? I have no clue, but this fight looked like something from the WWF or WWE wrestling. If you have seen the fight, what do you think??
Shamrock vs. Buzz(3-08-08) was this for real?
its the punch before that one that KOs him
Reply:It was the jab right before the punch your talking about.
Reply:Yeah, Shamrock's just an old man.
Reply:Shamrock always get's KO'd like that. Its just his old man muscles that cause his delayed reactions. On first glimpse, I do have to admit this KO does look fishy.
Reply:shamrock was probably on queer street as soon as they touched gloves. the dude is so done it's not even funny.

Who is the Ultimate Shamrock: Ken vs Frank?
On Saturday Ken Shamrock was interviewed at the WEC show and said there were plans for a Battle of the Shamrocks...Ken vs Frank. Today it was reported EliteXC was negotiating for the fight.
Here's a poll with all the relevant information (including VIDEO of the interview with Ken) at TheScoreBoards.com:
http://www.thescoreboards.com/forums/mix...
So who do you think would win?
Who is the Ultimate Shamrock: Ken vs Frank?
Right now the biggest problem is that Ken is 44 and past his prime, and Frank is 35. When Ken was in his prime (93-96), I'm sure Ken would have probably won. He would have been bigger, stronger, and was a force. People forget that Ken beat Bas Rutten 2X (28-4), Masakatsu Funaki (38-11), Dan Severn (80-15), and plenty of other big names of the day.
Frank is no slouch himself. He had a heck of a streak after losing three in 1997. He beat Tito Ortiz, Enson Inoue, Jeremy Horn, Cesar Gracie, and plenty other big names. He just beat Phil Baroni, while Ken has lost four straight. I'll take Frank right now, and Ken if the fight happened in 1993-96.
Reply:I love Ken for all he's done for the sport and the amazing athlete he is, but Frank is just gonna stomp his adopted brother.
Frank's record and QUICK end to fights is beyond comparison. Ken's record is awesome and he helped carve this new era in fighting that thankfully exists today, but I don't believe he can take Frank past round 2.
Reply:These guys are just trying to make a few bucks..and who could blame them..personally I think Frank has better over all skills than Ken. Remember Ken had his butt kicked 3 x by Tito Ortiz. And Frank beat Ortiz. Ken cant take a punch too well. I think Frank is the tougher of the two and his cardio is of legend.
Reply:I think Ken will win by intimidation alone, sort of the 'big brother is gonna kick your butt' deal.
Reply:Ken. Frank seems to be ducking just about everyone so his record stays good. At least, Ken never backed down. I respect people more if they aren't afraid of losing...
Reply:I love Ken, but Frank has alot of gas. Ken would by KO in Round 1, any later than that and the ball's in Frank's court.
Reply:Frank is younger but way more skilled than Ken..!! Sorry Ken..!!

Who won between ortiz and shamrock in ufc 61?
I was told Ortiz did
Reply:ortiz won, because the ref premeturely stopped the fight. although shamrock was starting to get punished by tito. but it should have went longer.
Reply:Tito Ortiz won in a very controversial finish. It was only a matter of time before Ortiz won anyway, but the endy was very very fishy. Kind of reeked of Sports Entertainment if you catch my drift. I mean if you want to give Ortiz a big push it really wouldn't be that hard to say to the referee to make sure it happens now would it?

Did you know Frank Shamrock was adopted?
I just found out on wiki!!! Of course him %26amp; Ken don't really look alike!!!!
Did you know Frank Shamrock was adopted?
Frank Shamrock is my favorite fighter. I think he would win the light-heavyweight belt in the UFC if he and Dana could reach an agreement.
Although he did not fight for about 5 years, Frank still remained in excellent shape, and is in excellent shape to this day. His DQ to Gracie was a hoax, the judges had him ahead before he struck ole man in the back of the head.
I have known that he and Ken were adopted for years. Their father's recent death has split them even more, and a Frank vs. Ken fight is not out of the question...
Reply:Yes I did, but Ken and Frank are NOT blood brothers.
Reply:yea ken was too remember him saying that in an interview yrs ago when he was promoting something while working for the wwf but i think frank is still his blood brother either way they were great fighters
Reply:They were both adopted. Bob Shamrock was a foster parent to both.
Kens real name was Kenneth Wayne Kilpatrick
Franks real name was Frank Alicio Juarez III
Reply:Yep, I read a short bio of him a while ago.
Incidentally, I also read that Ken Shamrock says he is a Christian, and he appeared on "the 700 Club".... which I didn't know about, either.

Small tiny shamrock tattoo question...?
i'm planning on getting a very tiny shamrock tattoo somewhere on my wrist. it's probably going to be a very bright green outlined in black. is it bad to get it if i am only 25% irish?? it would also symbol my grandfather and life. please tell me your opinions on this tattoo. :)
Small tiny shamrock tattoo question...?
Some say shamrocks are over done. I know that my boyfriend got his done on a whim and it was done really bad. Soon he will be having it fixed and I love his idea for fixing it.
It's on his left back calf. The shamrock will be re-colored and on one of the leaves he will have a leprechaun sitting, holding a fishing pole going into a pool of water. Kind of like that scene they have at the begging of some movies, the boy on the half crescent moon.
It has meaning to you go for it!
Reply:It's really silly. get something else that is relevant to you and means something to you. People will assume that your are 100% irish and have a strong connection / affinity with the culture.
How woule you feel if you were 100% Irish and you saw someone with the shamrock that wasn't even Irish!
You'd think they were a loser and wierd.
Get something else!
Reply:I think it would be great. Just a few things about tattoos,, sometimes when you get them to small, you cant do a lot, and they may stretch out. Also,,, on your wrist is cool, but you have to understand that many places do not allow tattoos to show during work. If you are going to get one,,, go all out! Be proud, and get it.
Reply:Tattoos don't have to mean something to the outside world. If it means something to you and you like it, get it. All of my tattoos represent where I was at that time in my life. They all have stories and I don't care if people like them or not. They're for me to look at and remember why I got that tattoo. I say get it!
Reply:first of all, i like this idea. second, a tattoo is something very personal and meaningful. dont let anyone tell you that you shouldnt get something you want. if you want it, go for it. after all it is your body and your tattoo to decide, not theirs.
Reply:it doesnt matter at all my sister doesnt have a lick of irish in her and she got one on her hip. if it has symbolic meaning about your grandfather and life then more power to you but you also have the trusty fall back of saying it is for good luck.
Reply:It doesn't matter if you are Irish or not, it is a symbol of Good Luck also. Clover's grow all over the world. If it is something that you like and want and can live with for the rest of your life then that is what matters.
Reply:Clover tattoos are lame and over done. I think if your gonna get a tattoo, especially if its for your grandfather, it should be something that means more to you and is unique.
Reply:I think it is a great idea and alot of people have a shamrock tattoo. And no you don't have to be irish.
Reply:haha i am 100% irish :]
maybe dont get bright green its a bit too crazy !
well if it means something to you then yeah :]

Reply:not a problem. u could be 0% for all it matters, if u like it, then it's fine.

Who does a better ankle lock kurt angle or ken shamrock?
See I wish Shamrock would have stayed in the WWE because he was one of my favorites. Shamrock is the one who brought the Ankle Lock into the WWF and it is his move. I love Angle and I think he is the best wrestler today, but the Ankle Lock is not for him. Shamrock by a long shot. It's like asking who do you think has the better sharpshooter Brett Hart or The Rock? There is no compairing.
Who does a better ankle lock kurt angle or ken shamrock?
Ken Shamrock. Angle doesn't generally apply his properly. Who puts on an ankle lock standing up?? But all that aside, Shamrock wins anyway because his ankle locks are applied to opponents that aren't willing to let him do it.
Reply:Shamrock dude all the way!
Reply:Ken Shamrock!
Reply:Ken Shamrock has the better Ankle Lock.
Reply:Well its obviously Ken Shamrock..
Reply:they both are great and dangerous because both of them are viscious when they lock their opponents in ankle lock and they shread and tear away on the ankle.
Reply:Well thats an easy question..
No doubt about it it's:
Ken Shamrock.
Reply:Ken Shamrock!
he is the original ankle lock wrestler!
Reply:SHAMROCK!!!! BUT MICKIE IS BETTER AT EVERYTHING...
Reply:I have to say Kurt Angle dude.
Reply:It is Ken Shamrock no doubt about it.

UFC 61 Shamrock vs Tito Ortiz?
Since these 2 guys are rivals and this match will settle a lot of differences. Does Shamrock still have enough left in him to beat Tito Ortiz? or can Tito still beat the "The most dangerous man on the planet"? And Sylvia is going to win against Andrei Arlovski GO SYLVIA!
UFC 61 Shamrock vs Tito Ortiz?
It will be a great night of fights
I hope ken wins but i have to put my money on Tito
Ken has been working on submissions again witch he didn't spend much time on the last time they fought but i will be looking at the same outcome. Ken will retire win or lose.
Tim and Andrei will be more of an edge of your seat battle no doubt the fight of the night Tim will be looking for a different game plan I'm guessing he will try to take Andrei down in the first for a little ground and pound then try KO him in the second. Who ever wins hope it is a KO.
Reply:I THINK ORTIZ WILL WIN. SHAMROCK IS GETTING A LITTLE TOO OLD. HOW ABOUT THAT MATT HUGHES FIGHT WITH ROYCE GRACIE. YOU GOTTA GIVE IT TO ROYCE GRACIE, I THOUGHT HIS ARM WAS GOING TO SNAP AND THE LOOK ON HIS FACE NEVER CHANGED. HE IS ONE TOUGH MAN. HUGHES IS THE BEST POUND FOR POUND EVER TO STEP INTO THE CAGE!
Reply:Ken Shamrock of course he's the most dangerous man alive and he studies his opponents and takes them down.
Reply:the huntington beach bad boy and the maine-iac will win
Reply:tito is going to ruin ken the same way he did the first time. ken has no stand-up, crappy cardio, and no takedown defense. and tim sylvia is going to lose. andre had him beat the 2nd time they fought, but instead of going for the leglock, he opted for the GnP, which tim avoided and ended up KOing andre.
tito over ken by ref stoppage in the 1st
andre over tim via submisison in the 2nd.
Reply:I would have to go with Tito Ortiz. From the look of TUF it looks like Shamrock is getting old and doesnt have that drive anymore from the way he is training his guys. But dont get me wrong he is still a bad A$%
Reply:i love shamrock.. but he's gonna get waxed again by ortiz
Reply:Jeez...Ken Shamrock is a has been. He's always going to be a fighter, but he's not getting old!!! I saw a match with him in Pride fighting recently, and he was getting his *** kicked, so what does he do? He grabbed the ropes so they would call a penalty, separate the fighters, and restart at the center of the ring. He knew that you are allowed to do that twice in the matching without getting a real penalty. a "youth potion" thatBut then in between rounds he threw in the towel!!
Did you see the first match between shamrock and ortiz? Tito absolutely punished shamrock, and shamrock has too much pride so he wouldn't tap out. Instead, wobbily, he kept trying for one desparation KO punch but looked like he was no match for Ortiz. Playing defense only against Ortiz is asking for trouble.
The only chance shamrock has to winning this fight is if he discovers the fountain of youth.
Reply:Tito Ortiz hands down!!!It's time for Shamrock to denounce his title as the "most dangerous man"!!!!!!
Reply:hey guys.. yeah.. ken got waxed f*ckin big time by tito. and hes been on a losing streak ever since he got back. not enough training since wwe. anyhow..
this time, its gona be different. tito might be shocked. hehe. ken got something dude, hes been training a lot. a lot of new arts as well. h estarted fighting udnderground as a training strategy also, so watch out tito. you may have won easioly before, but u better train man.. cause kens really determined to kick ya a**%26gt; =)
as for the heavyweight, i know for a fact that andrei will win.. if tim stays in the ring with andrei for more than 1 round, ill be really impressed.

Does anyone think Ken Shamrock should retire before fighting Tito Otiz again?
I really dont think Ken has a shot at winning and I think he is risking his life or his head to prove his manhood but lets all be real Tito is younger stronger and tougher than Ken but I am glad its free on spike tv
Does anyone think Ken Shamrock should retire before fighting Tito Otiz again?
Ken Shamrock lost my respect when he attempted to coach the guys on SPIKE'S TUF...and he did a horrible job. It was evident to me that he was only there because Tito was the other coach. He did a half-a$$ed job of training the guys and chose a dietitian for an assistant coach (wtf?).
Shamrock seems to have little or no control over his emotions and gets mad over the smallest things. I think he should get his ego under control and accept the fact that his best "in the ring" days are behind him now and he should concentrate on sharing his knowledge and experience with others.
Tito, on the other hand, was a fighter that I gained respect for after viewing him on TUF. I had never liked Tito much until I saw him giving his best to help his fighters improve. He made sound choices as assistants and gave them hands-on training. I have a new-found respect for Tito Ortiz.

Reply:Ken says Tito doesnt stop running his mouth?? WTF, ken talks like he is still in the WWE...except they dont rig matches for him to win
Tito wins by brutal ground and pound again, again and again...and if Ken wants this fight to go more than 20seconds, he should try some sort of defense.....why cant he just admit he is getting beat by a better man? Always excuses from little kenny
Reply:If Ken cares more about his health. then a paycheck, then he should retire. Ortiz has owned him, and will contnue to do so.
Reply:i hate ken shamrock. he's washed up and definitely past his prime (if he ever had one). his mind is so messed up due to massive steroids abuse. his so-called "team" the lion's den (stupid name) are a bunch of steroid-freaks that are brainwashed by shamrock. his brother frank is actually the total opposite, he's more humble and reserved, i like him, but ken is a joke. he is the white mike tyson, a circus freak. sorry about the ranting and raving, no he should not retire so tito could pound him into a bloody mess and hopefully do some permenant damage. after it is done, shamrock 0-3 against ortiz
Reply:I think Shamrock should fight again, but he should postpone his match for about 6 months. That will give him enough time to get back on the roids and beef up so when he gets hit, he gets stronger and can't feel anything. This will give him a little more of a chance. Plus, this is what he does. He's only good at fighting. Not necessarily winning, but fighting. Let him go out his way. It's like a person who has a heart attack when they're eating. At least they go out on their own terms, happy.
Reply:Hell yes before he does any serious damage to his body and well being!
Reply:Never say never in the world of MMA competitions.
A lot of people disrespect Ken, but I am going to back him up here.
Ken (in my opinion) is nowhere near the talent he use to be. However, you still have to respect the man for still going!!
Overall, Ken Shamrock is an awesome fighter, and one of few fighters thats made the UFC what it is today. I have soooo much respect for him, and I will be watching his match against Ortiz!!!
Ken may be getting a bit old now.... but this is a sport HE LOVES!!! So when you look at his passion this way... should he give up or retire?
Whether Ken wins, lose or draw against Ortiz.... I truely respect the man... and you can learn many tricks from him to!!!
I respect any fighter that gets into a cage... it takes GUTS... and Ken Shamrock has had unbelievable guts in his carreer!!!
I cannot wait for the match...
All the best.... from a Ken Shamrock fan!!
Reply:No... I'd like to see Tito whoop his azz again. Then he can retire.
I'm glad this aint pay-per-veiw... UFC is getting to be an expensive habit for me...
Reply:Both great fighters. Ken Shamrock is my personal favorite, I have followed his career since I can remember. Even though Tito may have the youth advantage. Do not count Shamrock out. Tito, as good as he is, got lucky the last fight. Why? because the fight was stopped because Ken Shamrock couldnt coherently defend himself, but as soon as that happened, Shamrock was right up and complaining. Now, if he couldnt coherently defend himself, then he shouldnt have been able to get up and coherently ream the ref a new one. Maybe Shamrock should hang it up, but not before this fight. I'd like to see a definitive ending, regardless of who wins.
Reply:I think he should, but the contract has probably already been signed so it's too late unless he wants to pay for breaking his contract. He's ego's also too big for him to realize that he should have retired after the last Tito fight.
Reply:i actually have a strange feeling that shamrock is going to steal this one...X_X
Reply:He should have but oh well............Thank goodness for spike TV.
Reply:twice is enough dude....you might get lucky this time....but if someone totally beat my butt twice., i don't think i would be looking for a third time
Reply:Yes. I have been saying that since before the last fight.
Reply:Lets take all these fighters and put them in a dome where nobody can get out, have them all fight to death, then put the winner up on the pedestal, and shoot him in the face. Fu*k this Alpha Male sport, most of the worlds real fighters would never fight for money, these people you see are only the best because their standards and disciplines are so low.

Matt Hamel won/ remember shamrock/ortiz?
Remember when shamrock though that the ref stopped part 2 to quick and not more that a couple weeks later we saw part 3
and we all new that shamrock didn't deserve that but he got it
hamile deserves his
Matt Hamel won/ remember shamrock/ortiz?
Yeah I agree with you, we better get Bisping vs. Hamill 2.
Reply:Comparing that fight to Tito-Sham?
Shamrock is exactly that, a Sham. He is probably the most overrated person to ever step into the UFC, since he first lost to Royce Gracie.
Sham should have stayed in Professional Wrestling, because in MMA he is nothing but a bully and a puss when he bully you.
Reply:I agree that there needs to be a rematch, preferably on US soil. I'm getting tired of seeing Bisping fighting in his home town all the time, no other fighter gets to do that.
As far as the decision, this has happened before. A judge "accidentally" wrote the wrong name on the scorecard, and the decision was reversed, maybe that's what happened this time. I can't remember who the fighters were. If this is the final decision, it is the biggest load of bull that I've ever seen in the UFC. I could support the decision if one of the rounds were close, but they weren't. Hamill dominated the first two rounds, then gassed and Bisping dominated the third. That gives me a score of 29-28 for Hamill.
Reply:Matt won that fight. I haven't found one person on any site to say that he didn't.
This was definitely fixed and it changed my view of things a lot. Thank God I don't pay for these things!
I just am waiting for a rematch in the states. I can't wait for Bisping to know what people with actual vision and brains thought of that last fight!
Reply:ortiz/shamrock 2 wasnt stopped to early, blocking elbows with your face is not intelligently defending oneself!!!
but yes hammill/bisping 2 needs to happen
Reply:Hamel won the fight. Hamel controlled the fight, too bad he didn't pound the snot out of Bisping when he had him on the ground. Joe Rogan is fairly good at calling fights as he sees them, but I was disappointed at the lack of any comment. Is the UFC telling these guys that they can't be controversial when they don't agree with a decision. With the decision being so farcical and with the lack of any comment from Rogan, the UFC and Rogan just lost a lot of credibility. At the end of the fight, Bisping knew he lost, the look on his face said everything. Credit to the hometown fans in London who BOOED the decision.
Reply:That was such an upset to see Hamil loose!!! He deserves a 2nd fight to prove he should win! Matt came out ready to fight, and Bisping only ran away the entire match!
Made us all think twice about the judging of the UFC.... I feel it's just all set up....
Reply:Matt didn't only win he dominated Michael "no class" Bisping. The nerve of Bisping after the fight in the ring to tell Matt to "go back to wrestling" .. as if he really thought he won???? Are you kidding me, he jumped for joy like a little kid at xmas when they announced the totally ridiculous decision. Bisping knew the judges gave him a gift and acted accordingly, surprised! Micheal, you got your butt kicked, you lost every round and everyone watching knows it. Why do you think Rogan said you need to go back to 185 lbs?? because he knows it too.
Reply:they suck
period
Reply:It possible but it would take much more work in my view as you would have to review all three judges to see they judged correctly, how you really do that is between me as people vote differently but still Matt Hamill should of won no doubt.
It will most likely be swept under the rug and rarely bought up. As it is a clear embassment to the UFC and the judging of the game in general.

How badly does it hurt to get a tattoo on your shoulder blade?
I am thinking about getting a tattoo on my shoulder blade. A shamrock with the word lucky around it in Gaelic. How badly will this hurt? I have never gotten a tattoo before.
How badly does it hurt to get a tattoo on your shoulder blade?
any tattoo will hurt, but it also depends on how much pain you can take.getting one feels like a rubber band being snapped at you continuously.and sionce its against a pain you feel exactly that verses getting done on a tissue area.but also what your describing it would take about less then an hour to complete.since i have done many shamroocks tattooing

Where has Frank Shamrock been?
In competing terms. I saw his Phil Baroni a$$ kicking recently and he looked like the best fighter on the planet. Why hasn't he fought in UFC or Pride in so many years.
Where has Frank Shamrock been?
Did you not LOOK at baronis record. It's pathetic.
And who cares what happened to him?
Reply:To the surprise of the entire MMA world, however, Shamrock suddenly left the fighting world just when he had climbed to its peak. Claiming he had accomplished all his goals in the sport and wanted to try other endeavors, Shamrock relinquished the belt he had never lost in the ring, telling the UFC to call him when they had someone who could beat him.
Shamrock has only recently emerged from his self-imposed exile, knocking out Cesar Gracie in under a minute during a 2006 event in California. His Razorclaws featured a shifting lineup in their first season, but are beginning to find a solid base under Shamrock’s guidance.
He is currently coaching the San Jose Razor Claws of the International Fight League.
Reply:he's washed up like a sperm whale...the man looks better than he feels
Reply:Actually, most of those answers are not true. He fought in Pancrase (In Japan) BEFORE his days in the UFC. His only loss in 10 years has been the DQ angainst Renzo (which he was winning on the scorecards)
He did have a falling out over pay etc. with the UFC in 1999 and never returned. He went out on top before he could lose also imo. Who knows why he's coming back now...most likely he needs money. He could've been great had he stayed in the game, but he's a shell of his former self. Cardio is terrible etc.
Was enough to kick Baronis *** tho.
Reply:He left the UFC because at the time he did not feel that MMA fighters were properly compensated. He went to Japan Pancrase and got his butt kicked a few times, he even got knocked out the ring with a kick. Now he is back because Strikeforce is paying him around 200k a fight, but he will probably never fight in the UFC again.
Reply:frank shamrock retired from mma, i think several years ago. after becoming ufc champion, left ufc, went overseas to fight, like the previous responder stated. now that mma is becoming more popular and profitable he is back with EliteXC/strikeforce. its rumored that dana white and he did not get along, and since pride has been bought out by ufc its not likely he will be in the ufc.
he was impressive against phil baroni, it was a big improvement from his previous fight with renzo gracie where he lost by disqualification due to illegal knees to the back of the head.
he still seems to be strong and skilled enough to continue fighting but is inconsistent
too bad he has a very unsportman like conduct, see what he did after choking baroni out

Who beat ken shamrock three times in a row?
Tito Ortiz.
Who beat ken shamrock three times in a row?
Tito Ortiz "the Huntington Beach Bad Boy" himself, dominated Ken each time, But as it was said in an earlier posting, he retired from UFC, and plans on fighting in the Pride FC.
Tito's next match is with the current light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddel (Dec. 30th) , who beat Tito for the Title a couple of years back.

Bisping vs Shamrock for UFC 75?
I just got done reading www.ufcjunkie.com and it looks like Ken Shamrock wants to come out of retirement. Talk about delusions of grandure. I guess he thinks that if Randy Couture can do it, so can he. Anyways, was wanting to know others' thoughts about how this fight could go and what they think of the old man coming out of retirement. anyways, you can check out the article here.... http://ufcjunkie.com/category/ken-shamro...
Bisping vs Shamrock for UFC 75?
I read this yesterday on UFC junkie as well and was really pissed. Ken needs to stay retired, he is not the same fighter he usede to be, he is past his time and just making a fool out of himself. Bisping was originally scheduled to fight Matt Hamill which would have been an interesting and there has been no explanation as to why that fight was scratched for this lame fight. Ken is a legend no doubt but it is due to his early career, look at his record now. He has lost four straight fight, two to Tito, one to Sakuraba, and one to Rich Franklin. Going even further he has lost in his last seven figh dating back to 2002 he is 1-6 and the only win came against the always overrated Kimo in 2004. 3 years and he hasnt won a fight, anyone else would be gone from the UFC.
Ken needs to realize he is done, finished, washed up, he is no good anymore, the game has passed him. I used to be a fan of Shamrocks but his ego has gotten in the way of his better judgement, he still thinks he is a great fighter and he isnt, get has become a punching bag for young fighters. His last 5 losses have been KOs, he is going to up a vegetable if he doesnt retire soon. This is a bad move giving Ken another fight.
Reply:thanks for the news. Shamrock is a serious guy i think he has a great chance to win, although i don't think thats what he is after. I think it might be more important for him to shake up a little in a tournament, he is porbably just tired of the lay life.
Reply:I am sure that Shamrock was the man in his day but i dont think he has much of a chance.Todays fighters are better thanks to people like Shamrock.Maybe its about the money....Shamrock probably didnt get paid much like fighters do today.
Reply:I tried with Bisping during the "early days" when he lived in Clitheroe (UK) before appearing (and winning) TUF. Bisping is a great all-rounder and will spank Shamrock back into retirement. Bisping needs experience, granted, but he's the sort of prodigy fighter who will only get better with time. Unlike Shamrock, who seems to get worse with time.
Reply:I still have my doubts that this story is true. I'm surprised UFC would even let him fight again. Shamrock is a total joke now.
Reply:shamrock
Reply:Ken was a great wrestler, great Pancrase fighter, and I hear is one of the best cornermen and trainers (a friend of mine rolled with him in the late 90's and early 00's at Lion's Den in Dallas/Fort Worth.), but his UFC and today's UFC are two different entities. His last fight, for instance, was mostly Ken pacing, retreating, against a superior cage fighter. These guys today are great at using the cage itself as a weapon, which none of the guys he went against in early UFC's were. Likewise, his style of fighting, pacing, waiting for the opportunity to shoot for the leg, and barely throwing his hands or feet at all, is done, over, gone. Against a new guy in KotC, Hook'n'Shoot, WEC, maybe. Against experienced UFC level fighters? Worthless. But, don't take my word for it. I am biased against him, since he and Guy Mezger were rude and inconsiderate at a couple of Pancrase tournies my friend and i attended in Texas in 98/99/00. Tre Telligman, one of his better fighters, was a very nice guy though. He was more than willing to talk and watch matches from the stands like the "regular" guys, while Guy and Ken shunned anyone not from the LD and actually shoved a fighter wanting an autograph away fairly forcibly.
But, regardless of his personal problems, his fighting prowess in Pancrase was fairly unmatched at his weight class. He has outstanding wrestling ability, coupled with superb leglocks, but it's so hard for him to shoot in nowadays that he catches punch after punch, knee after knee, when he tries, thus KO'ing himself.
Reply:Bisping will win this rumored fight easily.
Shamrock retired after the third Tito beating he took. He should stay retired. I would go so far as to say that most UFC fighters would beat Shamrock today. Lightweights included.
The reasoning goes beyond the fact that he lost 5 of his last 6 fights, it is the fact that his last 3 fights were all ended by flash KO's. He recovered fairly quickly but each time he didn't know he was Ko'ed. That is a very bad sign and he risks permanent damage if he gets in the ring again. For his own sake, he should stay retired.
-Ken's takedown defense isn't good enough to stop modern day UFC guys who are training with former All-American or world class wrestlers.
-His striking ability is mostly boxing with some kicks but he up against people training in world class muay thai and k1 fighting. He had no defense to the Thai clinch which Tito used on him in all 3 fights.
-Ken's guard does not have the necessary jujitsu defenses, submission, sweeps that most average fighters in this day and age of UFC use frequently to deal with a good ground and pounder.
- His training camps have shown where he is maximizing his endurance and cardio, but what modern MMA fighters do not work on their cardio??? This is no longer an advantage unless he is going against rookie fighters training on their own.
The result: His fighting skills are still in 1995-8 era and he hasn't improved them.
Last 4 fights, all losses:
Rich Franklin - Ken caught Franklin in a heel hook which he ended up escaping from. Ken also fell twice trying head kicks. Franklin ended up pounding Ken into submission.
Sakuraba - Saku caught him with a shot and Ken turned face down, flopping onto the mat. The ref stopped it even though Ken protested.
Tito II and III - Ken rushed in swinging but Tito caught him in a Thai clinch, which Shamrock had no answer for. Tito proceeded to slam Shamrock to the ground and GNP both times to victory.
The only opponents that could be worth it due to selling curiousity tickets would be:
1) Frank Shamrock, his adopted brother - I think Frank would smoke him, but it would probably sell some tickets.
2) David "Tank" Abbott - Another old school UFC guy that has had a problem with Ken for years. It would have to be an open weight fight 'cause I don't see Abbott getting down to 205, ever...
3) Royce Gracie - It would be like a Old timer's UFC tournament. Geritol could sponsor.
4) Mike Tyson - Over the hill former World boxing champion vs. over the hill former UFC champion. More hype than substance.
Reply:I'd rather watch Matt Hamill fight Bisping, but I think Shamrock could catch Bisping in a leg lock.
Reply:I think it would be interesting. I don't think Shamrock is half the fighter he used to be, but I also think Bisping is a little overrated right now. I don't think he did a good job against Eric Shaefer and Sinosic rocked him pretty good in their fight. I think Bisping's conditioning is great and I think he would beat Ken. But I would like to see Bisping get some tougher fights maybe against Jason Lambert, Evans, Keith Jardine, or Machida then we would see how good he really is
Reply:Shamrock was in fact the man in the early UFC days. His unique skill set put him ahead of the rest of the 1 dimentional fighters. Today's fighters are (usually) so well rounded that they are now on the same plane of skills. Now the deciding factor would be age. While the younger fighters have to respect the fact that Shamrock has seen just about everything MMA has to throw at him (no pun intended), however, youth and current training methods can somewhat counter that experience and when combined with youth, Shamrock loses to Bisping. I don't think Bisping would punish him the way Ortiz did, but the end result would be the same. Bisping by TKO in the 2nd.
Reply:Bisping takes it... Ken just doesn't have the heart anymore. Tito treated him like a 15 year old at a frat party and I haven't seen him be competitive in a fight in a long time. It's a shame because he was very good in his prime although I always thought Frank was better.

After Frank beat Tito at UFC 22, he retired from UFC and surrendered the belt. Tito then won the vacant title by beating Pride's golden boy Wanderlei Silva.

Who won the Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz fight 7/9/2006?
Tito had Shamrock on his back raining elbows to his head. He was winning the fight, but the ref stopped the fight due to the fact that Shamrock was unintelligently defending himself. Meaning that he was not intelligently covering his face or changing positions so that he would minimize the damage or change the tables! Eventhough the second blow of the elbow (out of 5!) to Shamrock's head seemed to make his body go limp, I personally think the ref should have waited few more seconds before making that decision! Shamrock got up right away and did not seem phased by the blows, but he was very suprised by the stoppage of the referee. It seemed like he wanted to fight more. Shamrock has been in the similar position in the past and he has managed to fight in more brutal conditions. The truth is though, Tito was too strong for him.
Who won the Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz fight 7/9/2006?
Tito won in about one minute. He overpowered him into the cage then picked him up threw him down. He then nudged him until he got up against the cage. Then he threw 4 or 5 good elbows and Herb Dean stopped the fight. But, it was contraversial because right after he stopped the fight shamrock jumped up arguing against the stoppage saying he could of easily still fought. My guess is that there will be a third match and Titio will win again. I'd like to see shamrock win, but I don't think that will happen.

Reply:I didnt get to see the fight but i know that tito won from what iv read. Personally i think the ref stopping the fight is a load of bull. He should have let it go on. To tell you the truth i dont think a fight should ever be stopped until knock out, choke out, or tap out. To hell with the ref calling the crap. It is a nhb fight, and the only way to realy see who is the better man is to let it go all the way. I was always taught dont stop beating on the guy until he isnt moving anymore. And also personally Tito is a punk who does need to be taught a lesson. Ken may be out powered but i think if the fight would have gone on he would'v won. And if ken doesn't teach the punk anything maybe his bro. frank would like to kick tito's butt again. he has done it before. tito's good but not near as good as he thinks.

Do you think the UFC fight between Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz was a set up?
No, it wasn't set up.
Tito Ortiz is a smartass little punk with no respect.

herb dean is well known for stopping fights a lil too early. after seeing the fight between yves and joe, id assume, he wanted to be more cautious.
also after the first elbow landed clean, Herb thought Ken went unconscious so he stopped the fight. (even tho by Ken's reaction after the stoppage u could tell he wasnt) mistake on the refs part.
Reply:neah but shamrock is better.
Reply:I don't think that the Ortiz/Shamrock fight was a set up, I think Ken just made a mistake. He jumped right up when Herb Dean stepped in, so he probably wasn't really hurt. We all know he can take a lot of punishment as seen on his face in his last fight with Ortiz, but he wasn't moving fast enough to show that he wasn't hurt.
Sometimes I do wonder if some of the UFC fighters are coached by the management on how to fight during their matches though. UFC will take out 3 hour time slots on Spike and only show four matches! I remember one night, every single match went to a decision making it seem to me that they were just trying to stretch the time out. Hopefully this is just a coincidence. I do wish they would show more of the prelim fights on Spike and on the PPVs and less ads and talking.
Reply:i didn't get to watch the fight because i was on vacation in Arkansas and they didn't have directv but could you tell me who won i would love to know. i hope it wasn't Ken because he is so childish because tito won last time they fought.
Reply:No, but I was so pissed!!!! I felt Tito was going to win again anyway, but come on, the ref was so wrong to stop the fight. What the hell was Ken doing not defending himself? He deserved to lose.

Reply:fold green paper in half and draw shamrock then cut.
I can draw from any picture, something like doing hearts for Valentines.
Reply:And to add to the above post, make another one the same way on another shade of green paper, maybe even a lighter weight paper, and glue the center of it on top of the larger one for dimension and texture. Don't forget to include the stems on all your shammies.
Reply:Yeah, I agree with the folding the paper in half, it's so easy.
Reply:find a shamrock shape that you like, then trace it on to the construction paper. use sissors to cut it out

What was Ken Shamrock's theme music for UFC 61 last night?
Band : Overseer
Song : Slayed
It's available on itunes
What was Ken Shamrock's theme music for UFC 61 last night?
sounded like some oldskool Beastie Boys, pretty dope, too bad he wasn't as good as his music

What do "thistle", "shamrock" and "rose" stand for in the song "The Maple Leaf Forever"?
Well they're the national flowers of Scotland, Ireland and England in that order.
Folding a dollar into a shamrock?
Well, I was kind of excited to try the thing on the Yahoo front page, folding the dollar into a shamrock, but the link isn't working...
Don't know why they haven't fixed it by now...
I wanna do it! Anyone have a site that will tell me how?

Ken shamrock vs georges st pierre?
both in their prime (even though gsp may not have reached his prime yet). who would win?
Ken shamrock vs georges st pierre?
I think GSP, he has come along way. He seems to have more confidence and is super fast on his feet. Ken Shamrock is bigger so I am assuming that if this were if they were in the same weight class.
I am really impressed with GSP lately he has some nice takedowns and super high kicks that look so flawless. He totally outclassed Serra.
Reply:The people who are saying Shamrock would win are the people forgetting how much MMA has evolved since guys like Shamrock were on top of the MMA world. 13-15 years ago almost every fighter was only strong in only one form of martial art. In todays MMA world all the top fighters are well rounded in almost every aspect of fighting, especially St. Pierre who is dangerous both standing up and on the ground...Shamrocks weakness...the ground game...Gracie exploited that in the early days of the UFC. St. Pierre would take him down and pound on him like Tito did. Shamrock would have a punchers chance but St. Pierre would make the fight hit the ground before that would happen.
Reply:In his Pancrase days Ken Shamrock fought at around 235. he was exceptionally strong and reportedly could bench 500 pounds. Despite was some people above have said, Ken was an extremely skilled MMA fighter and was a deadly submition specialist. He's just old now and has had so many injuries. Most of the original Pancrase fighters' bodies have broken down with age because of all the injuries they've suffered.
We all know about GSP. He is very athletic and has well rounded skills.
I would go with Shamrock because I think he could take GSP down easily, and could submit him.
Reply:wow, I cant believe all these people picking shamrock
I know shamrock is bigger but he probably only has GSP by 20 lbs at the most. GSP's skill level is ALOT higher in every aspect and he is ALOT faster than shamrock ever was. Ive never seen shamrock show a particualry high skill level in anything as it concerns to MMA. I know he was a good shoot figthter but come on, he has no BJJ, little to no wrestling, never seemed to be much of a striker. Rich Franklin destroyed shamrock fighting at 185, GSP is easily big enough to fight at 185.
GSP just has to much of a technique advantage, GSP wins easliy IMO
Reply:Looking at the calaber of fighters that were in the earlier UFC tournaments (seemed to be a lot of bar-brawlers in the tournaments), and seeing how lame Ken is nowadays (even though he looks to be in great shape for his age), I'd have to give the win to GSP. I just think Ken was overrated.
Reply:u gotta think about this question, st pierre fights at 170 and shamrock fights at 205. thats a huge difference but it if they could meet at a catchweight of maybe 185 i think that st-pierre in his prime becuz the style and athleticism is too great with st pierre.shamrock was well rounded but was always more of a submission fighter. GSP is excellent in everything not just good like shamrock
Reply:GSP wins. Ken was never top tier, although he was close to it. Ken lost to Royce, who weighed similar to what GSP would weigh in that situation. GSP is better than Royce.
GSP wins, because he is good enough to take Ken down, keep him down, and pound on his face all night.
Reply:It really depends. Back when Ken was king Ankle locks and leg locks were the hype. So on that, if GSP were to fight Ken of those days, he'd get schooled. Now TODAY...Ken would get murdered. Period. GSP is the man at welterweight and I don't see anybody beating him.
Reply:gsp would have killed ken at any point in his career. shamrock never won any titles and is an overated fighter, robert berry just kicked his ***.
Reply:p4p....GSP
in a fight...shamrock due to the weight difference
Reply:oh ken in his prime for sure, but now he's a washed up old man!
and i agree with weight class not being equal

Going to HK. Which would you choose: Pruton Prudential or Shamrock? Why?
I will be with our 6yo daughter. We are heavy shoppers which is why proximity to the MTR is a big plus. Dont know which one to choose since both are right by the MTR.
Going to HK. Which would you choose: Pruton Prudential or Shamrock? Why?
Havn't been to Shamrock but i stayed at the Prudential on my last trip and its very nice, large rooms to stock your shoppings and the Jordan MTR station is right below the hotel, can't ask for a better one. I'll recommend you the Prudential.
Reply:Pruton Prudential is much better and has the greatest shower in the world, especially after a long flight. Pruton is just a few escalators away from MTR. They also have a nice mall. I once got stuck there during a typhoon and they comped me the room and insured I wouldn't go outside during the storm. Very hospitable and clean. Like any hotels in Hong Kong and China, make use of the slippers! Also, don't change money in the Hotels. Try going to ChunKing Mansion where you'll get great rates.

What has happened to the shamrock logo for FAI?
I know they decided it to change it last year i don't know why, don't fix it if it's not broken. They should have had an on-line vote to see if the people wanted a change because anyone i've talked to about it didn't like it. The same goes for Steve Staunton

Stop blender to stir with a spoon if necessary to help blend ice cream.
Pour into two 12 ounce cups and serve each with a straw.
This is a fun way to Shake up St. Paddy's day.
Just whip up a batch of the top secret recipe version of mcdonald's shamrock shake.

What did you think of the Tito v Shamrock fight on UFC 61?
should it have been stopped so soon?
What did you think of the Tito v Shamrock fight on UFC 61?
The fight went exactly how I predicted to all my friends. First round Stoppage by Brutal ground and pound, team Punishment style. Although I would have preferred to see an all out war. Ken Shamrock is not the caliber of a much younger and more skilled Tito Ortiz. If the fight would have went on any longer Ken " the worlds most overated man" Shamrock would have ended up in the hospital with a huge hole in his head from Tito's elbows. The fight was stopped just in time.
Reply:tito ortiz was the winner all the around.
Reply:SAD!Ken is at the end of his career.
Reply:Ken was unfairly stopped from proving himself the better overall fighter by an inferior ref. Big John McCarthy would have at least waited till ken was knocked out before stoping the fight.
Yes Tito was winning and in a very strong position, but ken was by no means finished......Who Knows what would have happened if he had been given the opportunity to carry on?
Reply:Who knows what might have happened in Tito had been allowed to carry on. Shamrock got hit with like 6 unanswered elbows, Herb Dean was right to stop the fight.
Reply:Did the fight happen ?
I put the kettle on and came back and it had finished ! :-)
I have never seen Shamrock fight but he has a big reputation - and he didnt match it in this fight !
Reply:It was a good stop. He wasn't even turning his head to glance off the elbows.. he was just sitting there taking it. Granted his hands were up.. but it was just for show.. they weren't being used to defend him. And if you don't defend yourself the fight is over. That's all there is to it.
And yes, Shamrock is a piedce of ****. But i wouldn't really call him overrated.. cuz who even thinks he has any skill? Someone would have to think he was good for him to be overrated. The only reason he seems that way is becuase he keeps spouting how awesome he is.
Reply:it must and i am kinda a filipino and tito means uncle rite!!!!!

Who won ufc fight sunday btw shamrock and badolino?
not sure if his name was badolino, but it is close. the fight was a middle weight on sunday july 1st.
Who won ufc fight sunday btw shamrock and badolino?
Yeah, Phil Baroni "the new york bad ***" got submitted via a rear naked choke by Frank Shamrock in the second round of Strikeforce/Elite XC. Baroni later tested positive for horse steroids after the fight and has been suspened for a year. I guess they don't help that much.
Reply:it was the extreme fighting on showtime, shamrock pounded him!

Who watched the ufc fight sat night...and what did you think about the fight Tito Vs. Shamrock???
your opinion ... should they have stopped the fight or not??
Who watched the ufc fight sat night...and what did you think about the fight Tito Vs. Shamrock???
I watched the fight and I'm still not sure if they should have stopped the fight or not. Tito was hitting him w/ some hard elbows and Ken wasn't protecting himself but he wasn't really busted up. The first fight of night w/ Joe Stephenson his opponent was bleeding all over the place. The doctor had to stop the fight. I think the ref made a good call in the Tito vs. Shamrock fight, I just wish it had lasted longer since I had been waiting forever to see it.
Reply:If they wouldn't have stopped it (and I'm a big Shamrock fan), I'm afraid Ken would have gotten beaten way too bad ... brain damage ect ... I wish he'd just stay retired and continue to train fighters. He was done. Seriously ... he was non-responsive.
Reply:tito kicked his a$$!!!!! It was good that tito won...cause sham was talking a little too much shyt... and yeah, i think the refs were right in stopping the fight... did you see sham's face? looking like the elephant man... plus his tank was empty, you could see it... he had nothing left. he should be thanking the refs for saving his life...
Reply:Herb Dean ( the ref) did the right thing. He has to protect the fighters at all times. On the replay Shamrock was clearly not doing anything to protect himself...he wasn't answering the punches, nor was he covering his head. He wasn't even holding on to Ortiz in an attempt to shift position.
Herb Dean was the only one who saw Tim Sylvia's arm break in the fight against Frank Mir when he stopped that fight. Everyone else saw it on the replay - then had to agree that it was the right decision.
Lots of fighters immediately get up after being momentarily stunned or knocked out - it doesn't mean that they weren't knocked out. Five hits went unanswered and Dean did his job.
It did seem premature compared to the earlier fight that night that was so bloody and compared to the older UFC fights that went on longer. UFC rules have changed to better protect fighters - and unfortunately because of that, situations like the other night sometimes happen.
Personally I wanted Shamrock to win, so I was disappointed by the call, but I can't fault the ref, he did the right thing.
