Anyone ever seen these two symbols tattooed? and if so how did it look? I really would like to have these two symbols tatted on me, but i'm not sure where and what I could use to sort of make it flow. anyone have any ideas?

Why not put them on top of one another. Make the fleur de lis fairly big in one color, and then put the shamrock inside it in green (or whatever color... i'd just imagine you'd want green). I think that would be one way to incorperate them both into one another.

Everyone and their sister has a shamrock tattoo. They're all over the place. Google both designs and see if there's any pictures of them that you like. Then take them to the tattoo shop and tell them how you want it to look. I'm sure you could come up with something pretty awesome.

Although it isn't know when it happened, it's believe that in the second round, Cung Le fractured Frank's Ulna, but Frank did not feel it enough to stop fighting until the third round. If you watch the video, you can see when Frank tries to block a kick, and he starts to back off due to the damage from it.

Steven Seagal in any venue. He's a 7th-dan black belt in Aikido.

Shamrock would last 10 seconds tops.

Shamrock is in better shape, so that is an advantage for him, but anything could happen in the fight that can cause him to lose. Same with Seagal.

You can predict who has the better physical advantage, but as far as the outcome of the fight goes, you can't predict that.

Also, only stupid people would put down a martial art and say it is useless. Appearantly the idiots don't know that martial arts don't fight, the person does, so saying that "Aikido" would lose is completely idiotic. Lol oh boy.

True that Aikido training doesn't have alot of kicks and strikes and the opponents are complient, but that doesn't mean you have to fight exactly like that in real combat. Just goes to show you how dumb some people really are.

Remember youre in the bar and one of these fighters walks up to you and wants to fight, which one do you take and why. There is no backing ou you have to fight one.

i would offer to by either one quiet a few beers. seriously though, i would rather take on Ken. Chuck of course because he's Chuck and for the fact that he's really quick on his feet. if i'm in a bar, then i'll be trying to grab a pool stick, stool, chair, etc...some kind of weapon. Chuck is way to fast and doesn't have and weakeness from any prior injuries that i know of. I wouldn't want to fight Matt because he's a smaller guy that is super strong. He knows how to get under some one the pick them up and throw them to the ground and ground and pound them...that is if he isn't trying to get an arm bar on me. he's been having trouble doing that lately. although, if he's a little snookered himself, he might try to just trabe punches, which is where a chair might help.

Other than the fact that Ken is getting old and has been beaten 7 of his last 10 fights, he's also the one that might just lose control by getting too angry, too quick and then some one that still has an even head on his shoulder can possibly take advantage of him. there's no such thing as a clean fight in a bar. it's not UFC rules in there. he's got weak knees, i would work on that first and move on to a blunt weapon near by.

Now thinking from a legal aspect of everything, i would rather get in a fight with Chuck. He's the highes paid fighter in the UFC. he's driving ferraris around. if he comes up to me and starts a fight...it's self defense. he's a liscensed fighter and if he was to start a fight in a bar scene. it would be worth getting knocked out by Chuck Liddell.

kan-irag is cheap and the facilities are basic and quite old. but location and cost are great. you don't expect to stay whole day in your hotel room and if ever you are in your eyes are close or otherwise.

So if no man has seen God, how can Jesus be God. God told moses if you look at me you will surely die. There was no reports about people dying when they saw Jesus, no reports about Jesus wearing a sack over his head.

God also told Moses in Exodus 33:20 And again he said: Thou canst not see my face: for man shall not see me, and live.

So no man will ever see God's and live.

In Genesis 1:2 it says that God's spirit moved over the waters. This is God's active force, what he uses to create things with. Because in verse 3 he said let there be light and light came to be.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was void and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved over the waters.

So how can Jehovah our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, be of the same entity?

Reply:For reality to work there needs to be three things present, for instance if we are talking about looking at something, there needs to be someone who is looking, something looked at and the process of looking. If just one of these things is missing there is no act at all. The same goes for thinking, eating, everything. So God is three things, because he is everything. Without one of the things, there is nothing. I wouldn´t bother about father, son, holy spirit etc, not whilst they are children, some adults fail to ever get their heads around that explanation. If you watch UFC, you know they never mention Frank Shamrock's name, eventhough he was an undefeated champion. Even during the whole Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz saga, they never mentioned that Oritz had lost to Frank.

I think Frank can beat Silva. Frank's submitions are still deadly. Plus, he can fight well in the stand up game. He beat Baroni with a blown out knee.

Silva is a great fighter, but I think frank has a chance.

If you visit UFC's official website, they now have fights on demand which you can download for a small fee. I've done this and the videos are shown in GREAT quality and sound. If you arent wanting to pay, you might visit www.youtube.com and type in tito ortiz / ken shamrock in the search engine. They have a few videos there. Best of luck!!

Shamrock was there since the very beginning, Ortiz showed up approximately around the 15th.

I say approximately because your going to have to check the UFC website for their career bios to see which UFC's they appear on. Ortiz makes his first appearance as an alternate.

Also watch UFC unleashed up to July 8th. No doubt they will show some old Shamrock or Ortiz fights and even their first to build up hype so suckers like us will plop 40 bones on overpriced PPV (They still have product placement so why do we have to pay for view? Boycott purchasing it on the principal as the owners of the cable company are rich enough).

Good luck finding classic Shamrock and Ortiz, if you do your homework and find out which specific ones they fought on you should be able to find them.

Glad I'm not in prison. My shamrock( 4 leaf clover) is part of a tattoo I have had for a couple of decades. Above it is written in Gaelic that describes a part of my life and a time in my life.

An Irishman with Gaelic would know what it means but loosely translates is as follows. " Mi tuig aog ach anna miann air son beatha'' There is a skull in the middle and a clover leaf beneath. It means, basically, " I know death but lust for life". Hard to translate because it is a combination of Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic and Manse.

I am glad to know it may mean something else but I still dont plan on going to prison.

Everyone knows what a shamrock looks like, but the other one I've been thinking of is a Claddagh symbol, I have a claddagh ring and it's basically two hands with a heart in the middle and a crown over the heart. I've got one more week to decide for sure which one I want and either one I would be happy with and love. I'm just a little torn between the two. It's going on my right shoulder.

I am having a Claddagh designed for myself. It as a beautiful design, with 3 awesome meanings. Mine has a shamrock incorporated in the drawing. Just make sure you love the design.

Herb Dean ( the ref) did the right thing. He has to protect the fighters at all times. On the replay Shamrock was clearly not doing anything to protect himself...he wasn't answering the punches, nor was he covering his head. He wasn't even holding on to Ortiz in an attempt to shift position.

Herb Dean was the only one who saw Tim Sylvia's arm break in the fight against Frank Mir when he stopped that fight. Everyone else saw it on the replay - then had to agree that it was the right decision.

Lots of fighters immediately get up after being momentarily stunned or knocked out - it doesn't mean that they weren't knocked out. Five hits went unanswered and Dean did his job.

It did seem premature compared to the earlier fight that night that was so bloody and compared to the older UFC fights that went on longer. UFC rules have changed to better protect fighters - and unfortunately because of that, situations like the other night sometimes happen.

Personally I wanted Shamrock to win, so I was disappointed by the call, but I can't fault the ref, he did the right thing.

Reply:In my area of the country, Citgo decided not to renew contracts for their independant stations, so they had to shift brands to Valero. When you get the chance, stop in at one of those stations %26amp; ask the manager what is going on or call corporate. It could be a local supply problem, maintanance, or a business decision. Ok, so here is the point I turn to my handy-dandy ex-con friend. Who, just so happens to have been an AB (applause all around). So, here's his take (and yes, he does have quite a few three-leaf clovers on him).

Yes, the three leaf clover is a very prominant tattoo in the AB. It is there to symbolize our irish and gaelic roots. the three leaf clover is Aryan pride in it's purest! Often times we will have 666 or AB tattooed over it, or on it, but the clover is the most meaningful part!

(At this point he raises his shirt and shows me a tattoo of a three leave cover, with 666 in the middle, and vines growing over and around the 666.)

If you were to get the four leaf clover, and don't have any other potentially "gang related" tattoos, you should be ok.

A 4 leaf clover isn't associated at all with the aryan brotherhood as far as I know, but even a shamrock is not seen as exclusively an aryan brotherhood tattoo. Their members usually have "AB" or a swastika tattooed on top of the shamrock. Or sometimes "666".
Reply:As far as I know the answer is yes and no. The standard AB tattoo is a three leaf clover with AB or 666 in it and possibly a swastika but members also very commonly wear 4 and 3 leaf leaf tattoos without the other indicators as well.

If you don't dress like a gang member or have an 8 inch "Yosemite Sam" fu manchu you most likely have nothing to worry about, although I would avoid common gang member spots for it (in particular the web of the hand and the neck).

Most food purveyors don't like to waste their time costing items for people planning restaurants, but you may be able to find one nice salesperson willing to invest their time if you promise him/her your business.

Search "food distributors" or even "Sysco" or "US Foods" on google and you should find their website pretty easy. You won't find any prices though, as every account has a different pricing tier.

At this point in your restaurant plan, the pricing of individual items is not really important. You can't expect to know what you need to charge for your items until you find a location and have worked out a detailed budget so you know what your costs are. Don't make the mistake of pricing using some budgeted cost percentage. It's a recipe for disaster, and one major reason why the failure rate is so high in the restaurant industry.

There's really not enough information in your post to give you any ideas about the costs to run a restaurant that seats 200. Not enough information. Totally agree. I think that Shamrock should have retired 3-5 years ago. He is not Randy Coutoure and just didn't have the skills to make a go of it after 37. Ken didn't even look like he really trained or that he was going to win. It almost looked like Ken was there for the payday. In his prime, Ken would have given Tito a run for his money, but not now. It was really a pathetic fight. Consider that in the last few years Ken only defeated Kimo, another over the hill fighter.

I wouldn't be having a shake plus a meal, I would drink the shake as my meal. You know, like slim fast without the slim. A small isn't more than 500 calories and 10 grams of fat. I think that's better than if I were to go out for, I don't know, mexican or something! So do you think I can pull it off??

He has beat down everybody they ever matched up against him in no holds barred all out fighting, without a weapon, who is tougher?
Reply:He was a badass when the UFC was brand new. Back in the days of Haymakers and Slugfests. Since then he is way outclassed and a washed up old man.

there was a time , years ago, when he was very good. he was champ in UFC and maybe Pride fighting or even maybe some other league. the sport passed him by. he got old, didnt adapt, stayed in it too long. should have quit a few years ago.

he left UFC and went to world wrestling federation at one time. possibly mcMahon gave him the name to promote. i think that he did.

i might be wrong about him winning championships. another poster said that he didnt, the other poster is probably right. shamrock was a pioneer though.

You can dig up the roots and separate the rhizomes. This might stress the plant(s) out to where they kind of die. But, if you have the rhizomes intact, you can plant them separately to form individual plants. I have some that I found in my yard. I dug them up and separated them out into individual pots. They're fine. I even went on vacation once and they "died" from lack of water. But, I just started watering them again and they came right badk to life.

I just bought a shamrock plant at the grocery store. It was beautiful in the store. The clerk put it in a plastic bag and I put it in the car. It took me about 10 minutes to get home so it was only in the bag maybe 15 minutes total. When I took it out it is completely wilted. Its about 50 degrees out but its not cold. Anyone know why it would of wilted so fast and will it come back? I kinda feel guilty for killing it. It was really pretty.

Heard you have Shamrocks to grow well dependin on how many you were given, keep it in a small pot to begin with and feed it small amounts of flower food and luke warm water every couple of days it will then spread over the pot and then slowly but surely move it into a bigger pot and come next Paddy's day you will have enough to give to your mates.Good luck mate.

Reply:Shamrock is part of the clover family (a weed) so as long as you keep it in a good sized pot with good potting compost and plenty of light and drainage it'll be fine. It's a self seeder, when it starts to flower, feed it with baby bio then when the flowers die off you'll have the seeds falling into the pot to start new plants.

I have had a small shamrock plant in my kitchen windowsill for a little over a year. Shortly after I got it there was a white fluffy mold growing on the surface of the dirt. The shamrock is doing fine, I keep it moist and in the sun. I am not worried about the plant; I am worried that the mold might be dangerous for me and my family. Can anyone tell me if it is safe or a way to get rid of the mold? Thanks in advance.

Reply:This is from keeping the soil moist all the time. The mould is very harmless (I get it at the base of my ferns all the time) but if you're concerned just let the soil dry out and the mould will die (a shamrock can survive dry spells, and this may even force it to bloom).

That fight won't happen until Arlovski is out of the UFC, and at least with Shamrock there's a better chance of winning. I think Kimbo needs a few "tuner" fights before taking on a world class fighter like Arlovski.

Dude you don't wanna train with the Lion's Den. Did you ever see the Ultimate Fighter season 3? Ken is out of touch with today's MMA fighters. If I was living in Cali I would reach out to Team Quest %26amp; train with Dan Henderson. Unlike the Lion's Den where you actually have to try out for just to get in, Team Quest California accepts all levels of competitors from amatuer to professional. Plus they have kids classes they teach at there gym so that right there tells you they'll accept anybody!

Reply:I question why you'd choose to train with him over other, more successful camps, but if you are dead set on doing so he has an IFL team. Go to www.ifl.tv and find out where they are located and I'm certain that is where his training facility is. I'm sure he also trains at Guy Mezger's Lion's Den Dallas from time to time. You may also think about looking into training at Miletich Fighting Systems in Davenport, IA or Team Quest in Gresham, OR. In my opinion, either of those camps would make you a better fighter than training with Shamrock.

I am looking for some new houseplants that are either cool, pretty, rare. or exotic.

I now have: caladiums, some cacti, aloe vera, venus fly trap, shamrock, mother-in-laws tongue, and donkey tail.

Do you know of any other plants that do well inside all year round?

What are some good houseplant to buy?
Crotons have nice color and are relatively easy to take care of as well. You have a mother-in-laws tongue, which is also a good choice for low maintenance. I would go with a classic rubber tree plant for low maintenance and ease of growth.

To add to your carnivorous collection, maybe add a sundew plant, although I have never had much luck with the meat eating plants. lol.

Another unique house plant is the mother of thousands...the plant that grows its baby plants on the outer edge of its leaves. I have had luck with this plant so far, and I find it somewhat unique since it reminds me of something from the dinosaur age.

Maranta leuconeura or Prayer Plant, a native of Brazil, is a small tropical plant with broad oval leaves, up to 8 inches long by half as wide. The leaves fold upwards at night, hence the common name.

Blooming Time: Spring and Summer. The small white flowers have purple spots. Flowers are not particularly showy.

Culture: Maranta leuconeura need full shade and warm temperatures. We use a soil mix consisting of 2 parts peat moss to 1 part loam to 1 part sand or perlite. The soil should never be allowed to dry out. Fertilize weekly with a balanced fertilizer diluted to ½ the strength recommended on the label. Since the plant has a shallow root system it should be planted in shallow pots. The plant responds to being trimmed at least twice a year. Trimming helps to keep the plant growing vigorously. Re potting should only be done if the plant out-grows its container.

Propagation: Maranta leuconeura are easily propagated by division.

An example of how hardy spider plants can be, I have two in vermiculite in styrofoam cups sitting in my kitchen window and they both have sent out babies. As long as they get water, sun and a touch of fertilizer, they're happy.

It is illegal to deface or add anything to a license plate other than the registration sticker. It is also illegal in most states to have a license plate frame and /or clear plastic cover over the plate. While you may see people doing it (as I have) if they get pulled over and the policeman wants to ticket them, he can do so for any of the above infractions.
Reply:Technically anything obscuring your license plate is illegal. But as long as its not covering the numbers or anything I can't imagine they would mess with you about it.

I can't think of any negatives to getting a tattoo behind the ear. It might be abit painful but that area is tiny so it would all be over within 5mins. If your female you can use your hair to cover it when at work or somewhere formal. A tattoo at the back of the ear isn't very visable so no real negatives that i can think of.

Reply:You're going to be tattooing on bone. There are a lot of nerves there, and it'll hurt like a holy mother.
Reply:There's no fat between the skin and the skull, which I suspect means it would hurt a lot. You'd want to be extra careful about infection.

I have a friend who has a tattoo that curves from behind her ear to around front, though, so I know it's done.
Reply:one of the problems with tattoos in that area is the skin is very elastic and moves a lot (and bleeds even more!) so sometimes the tattoo doesnt come out very well.

another downside is if its on show peole can judge you by it and potential employers can be put off so think carefully.

I need to wear prescription glasses for just about anything, for example, and barring bopping around my house (which I can do in the dark if need be) it'd suck.

Reply:I actually have a tattoo behind my ear, and contrary to popular belief, it was not painful at all. I have 5 tattoos and the one behind my ear was the least painful. The only con I can think of is some tattoo artists refuse to tattoo on the neck because they think it's too close to the face and people will regret it.

But if you have longer hair, it's very easy to hide, but easy to show off just by wearing your hair up. It is not very painful and I constantly get compliments on it.

I have watched this fight about 10 times now, and when Shamrock gets "KO'd" he gets punched in the back of his hand.This looks set-up to me. WHY? I have no clue, but this fight looked like something from the WWF or WWE wrestling. If you have seen the fight, what do you think??

Right now the biggest problem is that Ken is 44 and past his prime, and Frank is 35. When Ken was in his prime (93-96), I'm sure Ken would have probably won. He would have been bigger, stronger, and was a force. People forget that Ken beat Bas Rutten 2X (28-4), Masakatsu Funaki (38-11), Dan Severn (80-15), and plenty of other big names of the day.

Frank is no slouch himself. He had a heck of a streak after losing three in 1997. He beat Tito Ortiz, Enson Inoue, Jeremy Horn, Cesar Gracie, and plenty other big names. He just beat Phil Baroni, while Ken has lost four straight. I'll take Frank right now, and Ken if the fight happened in 1993-96.
Reply:I love Ken for all he's done for the sport and the amazing athlete he is, but Frank is just gonna stomp his adopted brother.

Frank's record and QUICK end to fights is beyond comparison. Ken's record is awesome and he helped carve this new era in fighting that thankfully exists today, but I don't believe he can take Frank past round 2.

Frank Shamrock is my favorite fighter. I think he would win the light-heavyweight belt in the UFC if he and Dana could reach an agreement.

Although he did not fight for about 5 years, Frank still remained in excellent shape, and is in excellent shape to this day. His DQ to Gracie was a hoax, the judges had him ahead before he struck ole man in the back of the head.

I have known that he and Ken were adopted for years. Their father's recent death has split them even more, and a Frank vs. Ken fight is not out of the question...

Some say shamrocks are over done. I know that my boyfriend got his done on a whim and it was done really bad. Soon he will be having it fixed and I love his idea for fixing it.

Reply:I think it would be great. Just a few things about tattoos,, sometimes when you get them to small, you cant do a lot, and they may stretch out. Also,,, on your wrist is cool, but you have to understand that many places do not allow tattoos to show during work. If you are going to get one,,, go all out! Be proud, and get it.

See I wish Shamrock would have stayed in the WWE because he was one of my favorites. Shamrock is the one who brought the Ankle Lock into the WWF and it is his move. I love Angle and I think he is the best wrestler today, but the Ankle Lock is not for him. Shamrock by a long shot. It's like asking who do you think has the better sharpshooter Brett Hart or The Rock? There is no compairing.

I saw a match with him in Pride fighting recently, and he was getting his *** kicked, so what does he do? He grabbed the ropes so they would call a penalty, separate the fighters, and restart at the center of the ring. He knew that you are allowed to do that twice in the matching without getting a real penalty. a "youth potion" thatBut then in between rounds he threw in the towel!!

Did you see the first match between shamrock and ortiz? Tito absolutely punished shamrock, and shamrock has too much pride so he wouldn't tap out. Instead, wobbily, he kept trying for one desparation KO punch but looked like he was no match for Ortiz. Playing defense only against Ortiz is asking for trouble.

The only chance shamrock has to winning this fight is if he discovers the fountain of youth.

Ken Shamrock lost my respect when he attempted to coach the guys on SPIKE'S TUF...and he did a horrible job. It was evident to me that he was only there because Tito was the other coach. He did a half-a$$ed job of training the guys and chose a dietitian for an assistant coach (wtf?).

Shamrock seems to have little or no control over his emotions and gets mad over the smallest things. I think he should get his ego under control and accept the fact that his best "in the ring" days are behind him now and he should concentrate on sharing his knowledge and experience with others.

Tito, on the other hand, was a fighter that I gained respect for after viewing him on TUF. I had never liked Tito much until I saw him giving his best to help his fighters improve. He made sound choices as assistants and gave them hands-on training. I have a new-found respect for Tito Ortiz.

Reply:I think Shamrock should fight again, but he should postpone his match for about 6 months. That will give him enough time to get back on the roids and beef up so when he gets hit, he gets stronger and can't feel anything. This will give him a little more of a chance. Plus, this is what he does. He's only good at fighting. Not necessarily winning, but fighting. Let him go out his way. It's like a person who has a heart attack when they're eating. Reply:Both great fighters. Ken Shamrock is my personal favorite, I have followed his career since I can remember. Even though Tito may have the youth advantage. Do not count Shamrock out. Tito, as good as he is, got lucky the last fight. Why? because the fight was stopped because Ken Shamrock couldnt coherently defend himself, but as soon as that happened, Shamrock was right up and complaining. Now, if he couldnt coherently defend himself, then he shouldnt have been able to get up and coherently ream the ref a new one. Maybe Shamrock should hang it up, but not before this fight. I'd like to see a definitive ending, regardless of who wins.

Reply:I agree that there needs to be a rematch, preferably on US soil. I'm getting tired of seeing Bisping fighting in his home town all the time, no other fighter gets to do that.

As far as the decision, this has happened before. A judge "accidentally" wrote the wrong name on the scorecard, and the decision was reversed, maybe that's what happened this time. I can't remember who the fighters were. If this is the final decision, it is the biggest load of bull that I've ever seen in the UFC. I could support the decision if one of the rounds were close, but they weren't. Hamill dominated the first two rounds, then gassed and Bisping dominated the third. That gives me a score of 29-28 for Hamill.

Reply:Hamel won the fight. Hamel controlled the fight, too bad he didn't pound the snot out of Bisping when he had him on the ground. Joe Rogan is fairly good at calling fights as he sees them, but I was disappointed at the lack of any comment. Is the UFC telling these guys that they can't be controversial when they don't agree with a decision. With the decision being so farcical and with the lack of any comment from Rogan, the UFC and Rogan just lost a lot of credibility. At the end of the fight, Bisping knew he lost, the look on his face said everything. Credit to the hometown fans in London who BOOED the decision.

any tattoo will hurt,but it also depends on how much pain you can take.getting one feels like a rubber band being snapped at you continuously.and sionce its against a pain you feel exactly that verses getting done on a tissue area.but also what your describing it would take about less then an hour to complete.since i have done many shamroocks tattooing

Reply:Tattoos are different for everyone. I have one and it stung but was not a terrible pain. I gave a friend of mine my opinion on it, so she went and got one in the same spot that I did, and came out saying that was the worst pain she'd ever felt. So, it really depends on the person. If your set on getting a label placed on your body try a temporary tattoo. It comes off in a couple of weeks. Permanent Tats hurt, some more then others.

I have pictures of all my tattoos in there. the one on the back of my shoulder is a yellow rose with a tribal design around it. its right above right above my shoulder blade where theres more fat tissue.

Reply:Getting a tattoo anywhere where there is little fat - where bone is fairly close beneath the skin can be painful. The size and color will affect pain also. I would start with the outline and decide where you want to go from there. You can get it colored later.

Reply:Actually, most of those answers are not true. He fought in Pancrase (In Japan) BEFORE his days in the UFC. His only loss in 10 years has been the DQ angainst Renzo (which he was winning on the scorecards)

He did have a falling out over pay etc. with the UFC in 1999 and never returned. He went out on top before he could lose also imo. Who knows why he's coming back now...most likely he needs money. He could've been great had he stayed in the game, but he's a shell of his former self. Cardio is terrible etc.

He went to Japan Pancrase and got his butt kicked a few times, he even got knocked out the ring with a kick. Reply:frank shamrock retired from mma, i think several years ago. after becoming ufc champion, left ufc, went overseas to fight, like the previous responder stated. now that mma is becoming more popular and profitable he is back with EliteXC/strikeforce. its rumored that dana white and he did not get along, and since pride has been bought out by ufc its not likely he will be in the ufc.

he was impressive against phil baroni, it was a big improvement from his previous fight with renzo gracie where he lost by disqualification due to illegal knees to the back of the head.

he still seems to be strong and skilled enough to continue fighting but is inconsistent

Tito's next match is with the current light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddel (Dec. 30th) , who beat Tito for the Title a couple of years back.

Bisping vs Shamrock for UFC 75?
I read this yesterday on UFC junkie as well and was really pissed. Ken needs to stay retired, he is not the same fighter he usede to be, he is past his time and just making a fool out of himself. Bisping was originally scheduled to fight Matt Hamill which would have been an interesting and there has been no explanation as to why that fight was scratched for this lame fight. Ken is a legend no doubt but it is due to his early career, look at his record now. He has lost four straight fight, two to Tito, one to Sakuraba, and one to Rich Franklin. Going even further he has lost in his last seven figh dating back to 2002 he is 1-6 and the only win came against the always overrated Kimo in 2004. 3 years and he hasnt won a fight, anyone else would be gone from the UFC.

Ken needs to realize he is done, finished, washed up, he is no good anymore, the game has passed him. I used to be a fan of Shamrocks but his ego has gotten in the way of his better judgement, he still thinks he is a great fighter and he isnt, get has become a punching bag for young fighters. His last 5 losses have been KOs, he is going to up a vegetable if he doesnt retire soon. This is a bad move giving Ken another fight.

Reply:I tried with Bisping during the "early days" when he lived in Clitheroe (UK) before appearing (and winning) TUF. Bisping is a great all-rounder and will spank Shamrock back into retirement. Bisping needs experience, granted, but he's the sort of prodigy fighter who will only get better with time. Unlike Shamrock, who seems to get worse with time.

Reply:Ken was a great wrestler, great Pancrase fighter, and I hear is one of the best cornermen and trainers (a friend of mine rolled with him in the late 90's and early 00's at Lion's Den in Dallas/Fort Worth.), but his UFC and today's UFC are two different entities. His last fight, for instance, was mostly Ken pacing, retreating, against a superior cage fighter. These guys today are great at using the cage itself as a weapon, which none of the guys he went against in early UFC's were. Likewise, his style of fighting, pacing, waiting for the opportunity to shoot for the leg, and barely throwing his hands or feet at all, is done, over, gone. Against a new guy in KotC, Hook'n'Shoot, WEC, maybe. Against experienced UFC level fighters? Worthless. But, don't take my word for it. I am biased against him, since he and Guy Mezger were rude and inconsiderate at a couple of Pancrase tournies my friend and i attended in Texas in 98/99/00. Tre Telligman, one of his better fighters, was a very nice guy though. He was more than willing to talk and watch matches from the stands like the "regular" guys, while Guy and Ken shunned anyone not from the LD and actually shoved a fighter wanting an autograph away fairly forcibly.

But, regardless of his personal problems, his fighting prowess in Pancrase was fairly unmatched at his weight class. He has outstanding wrestling ability, coupled with superb leglocks, but it's so hard for him to shoot in nowadays that he catches punch after punch, knee after knee,when he tries, thus KO'ing himself.

Shamrock retired after the third Tito beating he took. He should stay retired. I would go so far as to say that most UFC fighters would beat Shamrock today. Lightweights included.

The reasoning goes beyond the fact that he lost 5 of his last 6 fights, it is the fact that his last 3 fights were all ended by flash KO's. He recovered fairly quickly but each time he didn't know he was Ko'ed. That is a very bad sign and he risks permanent damage if he gets in the ring again. For his own sake, he should stay retired.

-Ken's takedown defense isn't good enough to stop modern day UFC guys who are training with former All-American or world class wrestlers.

-His striking ability is mostly boxing with some kicks but he up against people training in world class muay thai and k1 fighting. He had no defense to the Thai clinch which Tito used on him in all 3 fights.

-Ken's guard does not have the necessary jujitsu defenses, submission, sweeps that most average fighters in this day and age of UFC use frequently to deal with a good ground and pounder.

- His training camps have shown where he is maximizing his endurance and cardio, but what modern MMA fighters do not work on their cardio??? This is no longer an advantage unless he is going against rookie fighters training on their own.

The result: His fighting skills are still in 1995-8 era and he hasn't improved them.

Last 4 fights, all losses:

Rich Franklin - Ken caught Franklin in a heel hook which he ended up escaping from. Ken also fell twice trying head kicks. Franklin ended up pounding Ken into submission.

Sakuraba - Saku caught him with a shot and Ken turned face down, flopping onto the mat. The ref stopped it even though Ken protested.

Tito II and III - Ken rushed in swinging but Tito caught him in a Thai clinch, which Shamrock had no answer for. Tito proceeded to slam Shamrock to the ground and GNP both times to victory.

The only opponents that could be worth it due to selling curiousity tickets would be:

1) Frank Shamrock, his adopted brother - I think Frank would smoke him, but it would probably sell some tickets.

2) David "Tank" Abbott - Another old school UFC guy that has had a problem with Ken for years. It would have to be an open weight fight 'cause I don't see Abbott getting down to 205, ever...

3) Royce Gracie - It would be like a Old timer's UFC tournament. Geritol could sponsor.

4) Mike Tyson - Over the hill former World boxing champion vs. over the hill former UFC champion. More hype than substance.

Reply:Shamrock was in fact the man in the early UFC days. His unique skill set put him ahead of the rest of the 1 dimentional fighters. Today's fighters are (usually) so well rounded that they are now on the same plane of skills. Now the deciding factor would be age. While the younger fighters have to respect the fact that Shamrock has seen just about everything MMA has to throw at him (no pun intended), however, youth and current training methods can somewhat counter that experience and when combined with youth, Shamrock loses to Bisping. I don't think Bisping would punish him the way Ortiz did, but the end result would be the same. Bisping by TKO in the 2nd.

Tito had Shamrock on his back raining elbows to his head. He was winning the fight, but the ref stopped the fight due to the fact that Shamrock was unintelligently defending himself. Meaning that he was not intelligently covering his face or changing positions so that he would minimize the damage or change the tables! Eventhough the second blow of the elbow (out of 5!) to Shamrock's head seemed to make his body go limp, I personally think the ref should have waited few more seconds before making that decision! Shamrock got up right away and did not seem phased by the blows, but he was very suprised by the stoppage of the referee. It seemed like he wanted to fight more. Shamrock has been in the similar position in the past and he has managed to fight in more brutal conditions. The truth is though, Tito was too strong for him.

Tito won in about one minute. He overpowered him into the cage then picked him up threw him down. He then nudged him until he got up against the cage. Then he threw 4 or 5 good elbows and Herb Dean stopped the fight. But, it was contraversial because right after he stopped the fight shamrock jumped up arguing against the stoppage saying he could of easily still fought. My guess is that there will be a third match and Titio will win again. I'd like to see shamrock win, but I don't think that will happen.

Reply:I don't think that the Ortiz/Shamrock fight was a set up, I think Ken just made a mistake. He jumped right up when Herb Dean stepped in, so he probably wasn't really hurt. We all know he can take a lot of punishment as seen on his face in his last fight with Ortiz, but he wasn't moving fast enough to show that he wasn't hurt.

Sometimes I do wonder if some of the UFC fighters are coached by the management on how to fight during their matches though. UFC will take out 3 hour time slots on Spike and only show four matches! I remember one night, every single match went to a decision making it seem to me that they were just trying to stretch the time out. Hopefully this is just a coincidence. I do wish they would show more of the prelim fights on Spike and on the PPVs and less ads and talking.

I think GSP, he has come along way. He seems to have more confidence and is super fast on his feet. Ken Shamrock is bigger so I am assuming that if this were if they were in the same weight class.

I am really impressed with GSP lately he has some nice takedowns and super high kicks that look so flawless. He totally outclassed Serra.
Reply:The people who are saying Shamrock would win are the people forgetting how much MMA has evolved since guys like Shamrock were on top of the MMA world. 13-15 years ago almost every fighter was only strong in only one form of martial art. In todays MMA world all the top fighters are well rounded in almost every aspect of fighting, especially St. Pierre who is dangerous both standing up and on the ground...Shamrocks weakness...the ground game...Gracie exploited that in the early days of the UFC. St. Pierre would take him down and pound on him like Tito did. Shamrock would have a punchers chance but St. Pierre would make the fight hit the ground before that would happen.
Reply:In his Pancrase days Ken Shamrock fought at around 235. he was exceptionally strong and reportedly could bench 500 pounds. Despite was some people above have said, Ken was an extremely skilled MMA fighter and was a deadly submition specialist. He's just old now and has had so many injuries. Most of the original Pancrase fighters' bodies have broken down with age because of all the injuries they've suffered.

We all know about GSP. He is very athletic and has well rounded skills.

I would go with Shamrock because I think he could take GSP down easily, and could submit him.

I know shamrock is bigger but he probably only has GSP by 20 lbs at the most. GSP's skill level is ALOT higher in every aspect and he is ALOT faster than shamrock ever was. Ive never seen shamrock show a particualry high skill level in anything as it concerns to MMA. I know he was a good shoot figthter but come on, he has no BJJ, little to no wrestling, never seemed to be much of a striker. Rich Franklin destroyed shamrock fighting at 185, GSP is easily big enough to fight at 185.

GSP just has to much of a technique advantage, GSP wins easliy IMO
Reply:Looking at the calaber of fighters that were in the earlier UFC tournaments (seemed to be a lot of bar-brawlers in the tournaments), and seeing how lame Ken is nowadays (even though he looks to be in great shape for his age), I'd have to give the win to GSP. I just think Ken was overrated.
Reply:u gotta think about this question, st pierre fights at 170 and shamrock fights at 205. thats a huge difference but it if they could meet at a catchweight of maybe 185 i think that st-pierre in his prime becuz the style and athleticism is too great with st pierre.shamrock was well rounded but was always more of a submission fighter. Reply:GSP wins. Ken was never top tier, although he was close to it. Ken lost to Royce, who weighed similar to what GSP would weigh in that situation. GSP is better than Royce.

GSP wins, because he is good enough to take Ken down, keep him down, and pound on his face all night.
Reply:It really depends. Back when Ken was king Ankle locks and leg locks were the hype. So on that, if GSP were to fight Ken of those days, he'd get schooled. Now TODAY...Ken would get murdered. Period. GSP is the man at welterweight and I don't see anybody beating him.

I will be with our 6yo daughter. We are heavy shoppers which is why proximity to the MTR is a big plus. Dont know which one to choose since both are right by the MTR.

Havn't been to Shamrock but i stayed at the Prudential on my last trip and its very nice, large rooms to stock your shoppings and the Jordan MTR station is right below the hotel, can't ask for a better one. I'll recommend you the Prudential.
Reply:Pruton Prudential is much better and has the greatest shower in the world, especially after a long flight. Pruton is just a few escalators away from MTR. They also have a nice mall. I once got stuck there during a typhoon and they comped me the room and insured I wouldn't go outside during the storm. Very hospitable and clean. Like any hotels in Hong Kong and China, make use of the slippers! Also, don't change money in the Hotels. Try going to ChunKing Mansion where you'll get great rates.

Shamrock Shakes are just for St, Patrick's day, after that day they don't make them anymore until the next year. 2 cups vanilla ice cream

1 1/4 cups low-fat milk

1/4 teaspoon mint extract (not peppermint)

8 drops green food coloring

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth.

Stop blender to stir with a spoon if necessary to help blend ice cream.

Pour into two 12 ounce cups and serve each with a straw.

This is a fun way to Shake up St. Paddy's day.

Just whip up a batch of the top secret recipe version of mcdonald's shamrock shake.

What did you think of the Tito v Shamrock fight on UFC 61?
The fight went exactly how I predicted to all my friends. First round Stoppage by Brutal ground and pound, team Punishment style. Although I would have preferred to see an all out war. Ken Shamrock is not the caliber of a much younger and more skilled Tito Ortiz. If the fight would have went on any longer Ken " the worlds most overated man" Shamrock would have ended up in the hospital with a huge hole in his head from Tito's elbows. The fight was stopped just in time.

Yes Tito was winning and in a very strong position, but ken was by no means finished......Who Knows what would have happened if he had been given the opportunity to carry on?
Reply:Who knows what might have happened in Tito had been allowed to carry on. Shamrock got hit with like 6 unanswered elbows, Herb Dean was right to stop the fight.

Reply:It was a good stop. He wasn't even turning his head to glance off the elbows.. he was just sitting there taking it. Granted his hands were up.. but it was just for show.. they weren't being used to defend him. And if you don't defend yourself the fight is over. That's all there is to it.

And yes, Shamrock is a piedce of ****. But i wouldn't really call him overrated.. cuz who even thinks he has any skill? Someone would have to think he was good for him to be overrated. The only reason he seems that way is becuase he keeps spouting how awesome he is.
